Arguing with tinpotters is tinpot.

I don`t class Chester as "tinpot" to be honest. There are far more tinpot clubs in this league (Boreham Wood *cough cough) than Chester. My comments were banter aimed at a local rival. I actually admire Chester`s fans for rebuilding their club after the old one went under due to a number of dodgy owners, one of which tried to get his grubby, scouse hands on Prenton Park and was thankfully rebuffed, dragging it down in the mire and I certainly don`t want them to have to go through the heartbreak of losing their club again. I won`t wish that on any group of fans (well with the noteable exception of Notlob Blunderers that is).

Why was it "much deserved"? For myself, I've always been clear that Macclesfield did what they were supposed to do, honoured their implied contract with ALL the other clubs in the league and competed throughout the 90 minutes, and I admired them for that. Meanwhile Guisly were handed a free pass by Torquay, who thought it adequate preparation to make the 7 hour trip on the day of the game, arrived less than an hour before kick off and put in a disgraceful, and DISHONOURABLE first half performance that meant the game was, in truth, all but over at half time. If any relegations can be described as "much deserved" it will be Torquay's and Guisly's (who would otherwise have gone down 2 years ago) when they are officially confirmed a few weeks from now. :bdick:
Tell me, when have Torquay ever beaten us in a National League fixture? Perhaps there's some inkling of form I'm missing that points to that particular result being out of the ordinary?

Don't let the facts get in the way GS. BF2T is adamant that we 'threw' the game in your favour. Thing is, you have to ask yourself why on earth we would do that. As soft southerners we have no feelings either way for either Guiseley or Halifax. I'd rather Guiseley had gone down to be fair because it's much easier to beat Halifax. (insert dancing banana)

Oh was that the game were you hardly ever came over the half way line and celebrated at the end like you had won the Champions League because you got a 0-0 against a team that only scored 9 goals in their first 14 games, a figure which we could have quite possibly doubled in that game had your keeper, who I believe has had the great sense to depart the Deva, or whatever silly name you call that lego built ground of yours this season, had the game of his life? It`s little different now believe me as you are soon to find out. If you think you celebrated wait until you see our fans when we relegate you.....that`s if there are any of you there, of course, or are those laughable spotty little kids in H Block going to turn up for their second game of the season, call us nasty names for 90 minutes, cry when Cookie celebrates yet another goal against you right in front of them, and then run as fast as their little legs can carry them as soon as the final whistle blows unless, of course, there is yet another Police cordon for them to hide behind?

Mate ive never known a firm so hard from behind the police, 2 years running their taunts have gone too far from the safety of the cordon yet chester supporters dont get it . Idiots from blacon calling us smackheads.... ooo the irony!! The supporters of a bankrupt club waving tenners in the air at us..... once again ooo the irony!! Singing your grounds to big for you when their ground is also a third full but a third of the size of ours... yes youve got it ooo the irony .

The thing that got my was that cup final draw celebration. It came a few weeks after borehamwood got a point and looked genuinely disappointed and dover and sutton didnt celebrate like that after taking all the points: perhaps this speaks volumes of why chester are where they are celebrating a point when borehamwood were genuinely gutted perhaps the players went into a mental state of a point is good enough for this club we will get treated like champions for hanging on to a nil nil scoreline.... hence the slide down the table that followed .

Just think of the celebrations you may have next year if shaw lane come up and you get a point there !!

Still bitter then?

As the great Homer once said, stop living in the past Marge.
Yup, with good reason.

Is that the episode where Homer walks out with the words, "I'll send you a postcard from wherever I end up this crazy world" and is next seen living in Bart's treehouse? He then worms his way back into Marge's affections by offering her his greatest gift: "complete and utter dependency"? Classic episode. :fl:

Ok time for some proposals for the best of all Simpson episodes, I'll start it rolling with the "Substitute Teacher" episode, IMO the finest 20 minutes of television of all time, anywhere, period. :bdick:

I've never accused you of throwing the game. I've accused you of failing to prepare properly and compete for the 90 minutes, as you are supposed to do. You didn't give a toss, you'd saved your own necks and went on holiday. If YOU'D needed the points, you'd have prepared properly and fought tooth and nail from start to finish- like Macclesfield did over at The Shay. That was all we expected of you as we would of any club going to Guisly that day. I normally support our fellow Football League clubs and wish them nothing but the best, but I'm going to savour the schadenfreude when your relegation is confirmed next month.:ds:

Lisa the vegetarian is a piece of almost flawless comedy. I say almost because paul mccartney is in it.

Add to that the dishonourable cheat goal that got them the point that made the difference. Guiseley have rode their luck for too long and it is about time they returned to the North.

I think you'll find we were safe on goal difference without that point. Still going down this time though unless Sean has the luck of the Irish on his side.

They should get relegated just for having about 3% possession against us back in August in a training like game that finished 0-0.

Maybe Halifax could have won one more of their previous 45 games that season? That might have been easier than asking Macc to let them win.
