No Sunday glooms today, for the first time this season. A very welcome win yesterday, a bid surprise to everyone on both sides.
Would love to think this is the start of some sort of revival, but in the cold hard light of day, could well be a false dawn. Grimsby were surprisingly soft and rather toothless, despite Sousa’s efforts, and didn’t vary tactics when he was double- marked. Shots were total effort and commitment, but, frankly, not much else ,as was witnessed on Tuesday against Wrexham.
Enjoyed the win, at last, hope we can move on up out of the mire.

On the game, strange decision from Brennan to take Flanagan off as I thought he was quite comfortably Barnet’s best player and his runs were pulling our centre backs out of position.

Umerah definitely didn’t intend to pull off the dummy in the build up to the goal but for once, that’s worked in our favour.

Loved what I've seen of Challinor so far to be honest. And he hasnt even won a game yet.

The intensity in our play was 10x better yesterday and his interview after the game nails every aspect of what we have but also what we need. The implication without throwing Rusk under the bus was that the players aren't fit enough to be that intense for 90 minutes and that we need more control.

Bromley are 4th and didn't even have a shot on target all game. Challinor was right that we didn't test the keeper enough though.

It's the only time win, lose or draw that I've come away from a game this season thinking we're actually a decent side in the making.

Whitfield injury is a blow though, we could maybe do with another wide player to compsensate especially with Challinor's front foot style.

We've signed a couple recently to deal with a generational injury crisis, but barring any further misfortune I suspect that might be it for the season now. The key for us, as it has been for a few weeks now, is to just keep trying to pick up as many points as we can until Jan/Feb time and we get some bodies back. If miraculously this form keeps up til then we'll be in good stead I think

I said when we first had our injury crisis that if we can keep in touch with the pack until Asante and Clarke are back then we will fly and be hard to catch.

Since then the Miller suspension, Gunning and Maguire injuries have happened - however we’ve strengthened in the market and both additions look excellent. We’ve done more than keep in touch with the pack and if we can continue until the start of December I honestly think we will start to pull away (bold statement but the players we have coming back from injury are excellent for this level and would get in most starting 11’s).

Holding onto Kabongo in January will be the main thing for our title chances IMO, keep him and I think we have the best squad in the league.

I doubt you’d sell him willingly, but would assume part of the deal of him coming would be a reasonable release clause if a league club comes in. We’ve got a similar issue with Rodrigues, irreplaceable really but he’s got so good that there’s going to be interest.

We’ve been extremely strong finishers in the two seasons we’ve been down here, but left ourselves with far too much to do both times. Pretty happy with where we are at the minute.

I think Bromley are proper contenders. Would probably have them second favourites now after you lot. They beat the bad teams and somehow manage to spawn a point against all of the good ones.

Will be a good test of how serious our promotion credentials are against Bromley.
I think we play them pretty soon.
We also play Halifax too in a couple of weeks so will be interesting to see how well we are gelling.

Double that absolute minimum, he's only just joined really hasn't he. I don't think the Trust are in it for the money, so it would have to be a daft offer or a club high profile enough to really turn Kabbys head

I’d be surprised if him/his agent had agreed to a move to a club in the same league without there being a release clause for league clubs, probably worth a fair bit less than £1m. But if you’re clever you will have negotiated one where it doesn’t become active unless you fail to get promoted this season.

He's on a good contract, BW will be owed a sell-on and what he means to our promotion challenge means anything less just ain't worth considering.

Sorry not been on earlier over the weekend, but being Ex- RN, this is an important weekend for me.

On the football front, beaten deservedly, by a better equipped all round team on Saturday. The only positive????

The gate at 5,821 which is superb continued support after 3 seasons of complete crap for the most part on the pitch.

Re-inforcements badly needed. Before the weekend I said this would be a test of any progress and the effort is there, but the team is obviously way too short on quality and pace with the current personnel, end of!

We're going well but if Roberts gets injured, keeper gets recalled, Wootton has a dry patch we could well blow up.
Such a competitive division, whoever gets over the line will need a bit of luck but will have earned it.

Only one win from those five as well. But I think monotonously beating all of the mid-table and below teams is what you need to do, more so than raising it against rivals near the top (as we keep doing every season). It was what got Sutton over the line last season.

On a normal season it may do. We do have a reasonably small squad. However still being in the fa cup Could provide us with a windfall that might allow us to bring in an extra player or 2 as the season goes on to deal with injuries. I fully expect when Newby's loan is up in Jan that both us and Stockport might see fit to make that move permanent aswell.

We also have Stenson due back in the next few weeks who will be like a new signing to us having destroyed his knee on his competitive debut for us over a year ago.

Big players for us last season in Summerfield and Woods have featured little this season also are due to come back.

Time will tell if we can stay the course. I'm hopeful we can make the play offs though. Then its anyone's ball game regardless if your 7th or 2nd
