How the hell we didn't put away a really poor Chester side tonight, I'll never know. I honestly think this club is jinxed. Nothing ever goes right for us.

We simply must get rid of Scott Harrison, a complete liability. He should've been released years ago, er well he was and then we re-signed him and gave him a new deal.

To be honest, I think I'll just be happy to stay up this season. Everything about us feels very York-ish.

I think I'm adapting to non league football. I'm shit scared of our away trip to Bromley.

I'm not normally the sort to take the easy option and blame the referees. Generally fans who blame the ref are biased themselves. But that has got to be one of the most shambolic, biased inept and corrupt refereeing performances i've ever seen. You know the sort when they are so clearly desperate not to be a homer. It didn't seem like it would matter as neither of us could shoot for toffee. Then one blatant foul by dover in their half that gets waved away and 10 seconds later we are a goal down in a manic last 10 mins.

That's now 18 goals scored in the four games involving us. 10 scored, 8 conceded. Never a dull moment.

Tarpey's strike partner played really well as did there centre mid with the beard. It was a strange game really we played well in parts but went down to 10 men early, they scored their pen. Shortly after there was another pen for them for a handball from a corner, can't wait to see highlights off those two incidents because I'm not having the handball one. We started the second half really well and it looked like we'd get the equaliser then tarpey scores a brilliant solo goal.

As I've said before we're a team of lightweight midgets. Technically very good but many teams in this league will bully and our defence is shocking. We'll score goals but we need to sort the defence out. We've been saying this for two seasons now though. Still, it's our first season and I think we'll finish mid table

Can we end the season now?
Presumably as Sutton and Bromley can't enter the play-offs, and we are the highest placed proper club, we'd get a bye through to Wembley?
Why can't they enter the Playoffs??

I said it on Saturday and I'll say it again. Send Tunni and ZFA back if you don't like them :2thumb:

Still top, still unbeaten but it's always gutting to concede so late.
We've played 4 of the bottom 5, think Saturday will be a much tougher test at B'wood.

Christ that was a tough night's viewing.

First half was as bad as I've seen in the last few seasons, absolutely nothing created. Gateshead had a few chances to take the lead and were generally the better side, again the 3 in midfield causing problems as we completely bypassed ours. Boden was coming so deep to get the ball

Second half was more or the less the same but with Gateshead much less threatening, then Keates brings on this Alex Reid he's plucked from Fleetwood who instantly offers something, looking to make runs behind the defence. Still, we did not look like scoring but a Heed defender slips and Reid is in with a tidy finish.

At least Manny and Pearson were solid at the back, first of many clean sheets you would think.

6 points from 4 games which personally am delighted with given how we have played so far. Maidstone away next which was a good trip last season and looking forward to it again!

Teams with 3G are allowed to take part in the playoffs

Kamikazee defending from us this evening but full credit to Ebbsfleet very tidy side who I think will be play offs. Unreal goal from Ferrier. Think we could end up the season scoring over a 100 but conceding over 100.

How is Widdowson the left back Orient stole from us doing

First home win of the season. Hope you go again, you're a lucky charm. Cheers for the £20 too.
Not going to lie, I did enjoy myself tonight!

Gateshead controlled the first half, should really have been 2-0 up at half time. Peniket caused the Wrexham defence all sorts of problems and almost scored a screamer.

Second half wasn't as good as the first, again Wrexham were creating nothing but so were Gateshead. Wrexham scored after a slip by a Gateshead defender which sent Reid through on goal and he took his goal well under pressure.

Gateshead lumped a few long balls into the box in the final 10 minutes which caused Wrexham a few problems but it never really looked like they would score.

On that viewing though, Wrexham will be spending next season in non league football again as they don't create enough chances.

Hopefully see you in the FA Cup (If you can make the 1st round proper )

Correct joe, I'm tired, I'm fed up and I banged my fucking elbow on the door trying to get into the house

Go to sleep poppet, you'll feel better in the morning I'm sure. We've all banged our elbow trying to get in the door.

Whilst I'm confident we will always get goals, we need to sort it out defensively. Sounds like Ashmore saved us again, along with a great fightback. Doesn't help that our two best centre backs are both out injured. Need somebody else in, even if it's only a loan.

Ferrier's goal sounded like an absolute beauty. Will have to look out for that on the highlights.

Rode our luck in the first-half as Eastleigh hit the post and then crossbar, and had another decent chance. We went ahead just before half-time. One of their players then scored an own-goal.

We then decided to do a Classic Woking. Orlu, who had a shocker, handballed it in our area. Baxter saves the pen. Literally a minute later we give away another pen which is scored.

Six points from Gateshead H, Tranmere A, Barrow A and Eastleigh H is a very good return. The depth of the squad is worrying though. Our bench was shockingly weak tonight.

Really hurts for us. Well done to Dover, who play decently and unless they're heavily bankrolled are clearly getting bang for their buck, coming up to us midweek and winning in such a way. I think this marks an end for us applying our "grind out a result" tactics while simultaneously learning how to beat tougher defences, and getting the odd newbie to link up better. We're at a point where learning on the job is costing us, and must begin to find our feet via a more urgent style of playing, which concentrates on attacking players linking up under pressure, and self-assured play. Rather than being lost, and I don't think we'll be on the back end of thrashings in this league whatever happens, we need to work out the purpose in this side.

From the players to the coaching staff, they all need to take a look at themselves after that. We looked under prepared and played a far, far too open game in the second half and we paid for it.

Davis has got to learn we aren't going to be able to go to places like Bromley and out pass/score them playing an open game, you need to out think a team thats going to stick 9 or 10 men behind the ball and who play the ball long into the channels with two very quick forwards to run onto it - With the long ball into the channel being held up by the bounce due to the pitch being a plastic one.

Maybe we should change plan away from home with these types of conditions? Sit deep, not invite Louis Dennis and George Porter the chance to run in behind and get our defence turned. Maybe we should play the ball long into the channels early too into our forwards/wingers so they can try and win a throw, corner or free kick so we get some territory on the opposition - Then start to try and play the ball in behind the opposition or take the opposition full backs on 1v1, with one holding player giving the backline some protection from a possible counter attack - Because Lee and Lawless both didn't do that tonight.

We had one or two chances to maybe have the game end up 6-3, but quite simply I hope Davis, Embleton and the team now know what they'll be up against this season - Particularly away from home because we looked under prepared and paid for it, the second half was too open and our defence had no protection which was why we got dicked. Having said that, the first half we was punished at a set piece and Bromleys first goal was well taken.

Credit to Bromley though, solid team - dealt with everything we threw at them in terms of crosses and set pieces, played the conditions perfectly and were worthy winners. At 3-0 they stopped time wasting and went for the kill.
