Frustrated not to take anything from that as we started the game well and had chances. But we got punished for not being clinical enough, which has been my main frustration with this side.

Losing Brophy and Elokobi to injury in the end was a bit too much, we ended the game with only 4 players older than 21 I believe.

Despite our pressure second half and Hartlepool happy to sit back our end product wasn’t good enough. Hartlepool did defend well to be fair, but they had a lot more on the line than we did.

Just about got over the line in the end. Should have been 4 up after missing a penalty and hitting the bar, then Sutton got a goal back out of nowhere and things were a lot tighter than they should have been in the last few minutes.

Sutton looked better as the game went on, but if they're going into key games with the approach they did today they won't be going up.

Good team Tranmere but the 2, 3 and 5 are examples of dirty cynical football at its worst & totally dominating a weak ref regularly manhandling him

Subbed off our most dangerous player (Jeffery) again which left us no chance of salvaging a draw

Wait, do you mean you don't know who Steve McNulty is?

Dover have probably been the biggest cheats in the league for the past few seasons. Apart from Guiseley obviously.

Big win tonight. Play-offs all but assured and finishing in the top three is now in our hands.

Couldn't go tonight, but that was still tense. I don't know which is considered our game in hand, but now all we need to do is match Woking in the games we have left. Are they as shit as their form suggests? Are Chester likely to roll over for us on the final day? It's not been a dull season.

Yes - we’re shit. Have never beaten Guiseley. Haven’t won an away league game for over 6 months.

There’s no way we’re winning both our remaining games - which should mean Barrow stay up.

Do you NOT KNOW who Eric Hitchmough is?

Your small reprieve might be that Guiseley should be shattered after playing Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. If you don’t win that, you don’t deserve to take it to the final day

Nice of Dover to completely gift wrap Tranmere's winning goal this evening, or at least that's how it sounded on the radio. By all accounts (i.e. Radio Kent) Tranmere 'gamesmanshipped' themselves towards a fairly comfortable win in the end so emphasis on us to finish the job off ourselves on Saturday.
This smacks of last season... pushing the eventual champions most of the way, but ultimately left to rue a poor spell earlier in the season. FWIW I think you'll finish the job on Saturday, but at least we'll be in form going into the playoffs.

Come on Eastleigh!

Well that wasn't a classic but at least we are now mathematically gone. We might play with a bit of composure in the remaining games.

Guiseley have been punished for WHAT THEY DID.

Finally. It should never be spoken about but nobody should ever forget for one moment what they did.

Sad to see you go - my favourite away trip. Hope we don't join you! Do us a favour against Woking, yeah?

Job done tonight. One win from the playoffs, hopefully we can wrap it up on Saturday although we are probably playing Barrow at the wrong time!

Nothing happened in the first half, but after going behind, we woke up and dominated the second half. Dagenham couldn't handle Porter and Wanadio running at them and we created enough chances to win two games. We hit the inside of the post and missed a penalty, as well as getting the three goals. The playoffs are in our own hands, three wins and we are in. Stranger things have happened.

We are that bad that we'd lose to Guiseley right now, even without them trying any of their tricks.

I wonder if Sean is saving ARH and Andy H for for Woking with their Barrow connection. We're going to need some fresh legs for that one with playing Thursday too. James Roberts will likely feature too, he's the best finisher at the club but hasn't had much game time under Sean.

I thought we were poor but battled and defended well when needed, performances don't matter for us right now, glad we're finally safe but it really shouldn't be celebrated, Matthew Bates has performed unbelievably well with this set of sick notes and losers that Craig Harrison assembled and despite some crap performances him and his team have steered us to safety, gives the new chairman something to think about in the summer.

Cheers Orient, wink wink nudge nudge

Welcome. I enjoyed the way we dominated the game just to show that we could have won if we’d wanted to, but magnanimously decided to show solidarity instead. Let us both enjoy the glory of Maidenhead and The Vision together again next year, Brother.

Completely collapsed second half after being the better side first half, story of our season show up for one half only, at least we’re still in business. The rumour is we won’t be here next season, Essex senior league beckons.
