Good win for us that, especially with all the others around us winning, much better from us in the second half, Daggers keeper rightfully got MOM after pulling off save after save, don't think they troubled Killip at all in that second half.

FT 1-0 win away at Aldershot.

Very happy with that and puts us in a great position now with a few teams immediately above us dropping points, especially with our games in hand

Felt we edged the first half tonight... second half was more of a classic away performance and defended what we had extremely well, never felt like we were gonna concede tonight

Man of the match Haydn Hollis, which I’m sure shots fans will agree with.... madness that this man was ever out of the team at any point this season, not put a foot wrong all season.

Solid and very pleasing 3-1 win for Sutton at Bromley tonight. Looked strong throughout the 90 minutes following an early goal. Looked a little dicey for a few moments after Bromley pulled back to 3-1 but a very deserved win.

South London suburbia is Amber

We have successfully dragged County down to our level. That's how we like it.

Looking increasingly good for you boys coming into the league next season!

Impressive form you’re on - 2 between grimsby southend and barrow to come down

Good set of results there with Eastleigh and Bromley losing. Alty and Yeovil are heavily reliant on others at this point given they have played so many more games.

Now we just have the small matter of the run away leaders to play on Saturday.

Still 14 games minimum to play, so we’re not getting carried away yet!

Stockport County.
I said on Saturday Sutton were quality. They won't be caught. They'll make a few slips and trips like everyone does but nobody will be able to string the wins together to give them much of a bloody nose.

We were more than deserved winners tonight against a pretty poor Eastleigh.

This is one of our more entertaining matches of the season.

What’s happened under ardley jacob, thought you guys would push on this season in fairness.

I don’t think we needed much dragging down to be fair.

I’d put my nan in ahead of Doyle or Turner.

I’m gonna say it, Kyle Wooton is gash as well. I’d have kept Effiong on.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Well at least it was end-to-end, but unfortunately no end product from either set of “strikers”, with the one exception to win the game. Excellent defending from Chesterfield ,but little pressure from Shots, who persisted in lumping high balls onto the heads of 3 giant centre-backs.
Chesterfield should book a play- off place easily enough. Shots will flounder about lower mid- table as usual.
Ho hum...

Both Wootton and Effiong are slightly doomed as hold up players in a team with no off the ball runners whatsoever.

Lol we’ve scored another wonder goal. Literally the only fucking thing we can do.

Oh look we look a vaguely threatening team when we’ve not got anything to lose and aren’t playing about eight at the back.

What a pants 2nd half, why do teams do it when they have a good lead at half time and just sit back and invite pressure in the 2nd? It never works.

Comfortable performance from us tonight did the work in second half. Solihull obviosly on a bad run and werent good tonight. Rooney on the bench until 60mins , ou defence quite happy with that. He did miss a header near the end but they were shot basically. Evefryone got a result tonight so important to keep up with everyone. Jake Andrews man of the match again, amazing what happens when you play them in the right position

We’re very much a ‘one game at a time’ type of side. Lots of points still to play for.

Jared, you are up. Enjoy the FL!

The rest of us will be left with the scraps of the play offs. Wrexham and Pools on decent runs at the moment, but I really couldn’t pick a winner. Everyone bar Sutton seems to be capable of utter shitness at times.

Mixture of things. He’s been a bit unlucky in losing Cal Roberts, comfortably our best player, to Long Covid for basically the whole season, as well as Wes Thomas earlier in the season wanting to move closer to home.

But.. it’s still pretty much his fault. He’s absolutely insistent in trying to impose a possession-based style with two ball playing midfielders sat in front of our defence. We’ve even made a hail mary switch to 3-5-2 recently, but they’re still there, passing it diligently between each other. They’re both decent players individually (Doyle and Reeves), but as a pairing they’re totally unsuited to this division. Leaves us completely at the mercy of what the opposition do - if they sit off and let us play then we generally win, if they press then we’re fucked and can’t do anything.

We also feel like a team that is constantly playing with the handbrake on. It seems like it must be deliberate, but god knows. We played as an attacking force for about ten minutes tonight, scored twice and missed a late sitter to win it.

He’s clearly under pressure - post-match was probably the angriest and most critical of the players that I’ve heard him. But I don’t think he accepts what the underlying issue is.
