Harrogate deserved to win to be honest. Not sure why steads goal was disallowed. They hit the woodwork a few times as well. We will be in a battle for playoffs this year

Ha, it was a joke. Halifax are the best team we've played at home this season. But let's be honest, the ref won you the match!

Need to see the penalty decision again as it looked soft, but he missed a stonewall penalty for us about 10 mins later. He missed so many fouls it felt like he was trolling the fans...

Thought we played well aside from the defending for the equaliser, so that was the most frustrating result so far.

Can't comment as I wasn't at the game but Radio Cumbria commentators seemed to think the same thing. Although they were extremely biased, unlike some commentaries I've listened to the last few games.

Not often we win a game undeservedly so could be a good sign for us. It will even out over the season though, it always does.

The Christmas home-and-away between Notts and Maidenhead in the Magpie Cup (which is obviously the real quiz) is looking absolutely massive.

Wrexham just didn’t bother coming out for the second half, quick fire double from Pools within 10 mins killed them off, daft sending off as well, needless from their player.

Honestly though, the ref got so much wrong it was laughable. Not sure how you can say a commentator is biased if you can't see what they are commentating on?

Yeah, it's fair enough to win when not playing well - the bitterness just stems from how bad the bastards in black were.

I see gime bagged another 2 and currently leads the goal scoring charts. Wrexham fans wouldn't have him by all accounts

Had a great game, couldn’t miss the first one but decent header for his second, who was getting the tattoo again?

pretty much what's already been said - 1st Half Halifax hardly had a kick and after scoring a good goal inside 2 minutes Barrow just couldn't get the ball in the net again - should have been about 3 up at half time.
2nd half and Barrow kept playing well, but Halifax came more into the game. Halifax's equaliser was from 2 Barrow defenders not clearing the ball properly and the Halifax No6(?) finished well into the corner.
Then the ref decided he wanted to be centre of attention as too many do in this league. A penalty given against Sam Hird who nearly had his shirt pulled off by the guy he apparently fouled. Well taken penalty and 2-1. Then how he didn't give the penalty when Brad Barry was brought down from behind I'll never know. Still we had plenty of half chances, but no goals, whilst Halifax had a few chances on the break.
As has already been said 2nd half Halifax looked the best side to visit us so far this season. Another game where we took the lead and dropped points although this time more due to Halifax improving and a totally inept referee than Barrow playing shit in the 2nd half.
Halifax No 10 who they have been raving about was subbed off at half time after doing nothing, but 15 and a few others looked good.
Halifax fans turned up in numbers and were quiet as a church mouse most of the 1st half - but fair play 2nd half their support probably got the team over the line.
A final word for Binom Williams though - the guy's build like a brick outhouse - but goes down like he's a 6 stone weakling whose been on the end of a Roy Keane 2 footed tackle. 1st half he was embarrassing the way he went down - but the ref bought it every single time.

Hope that if we get promoted (big if) I'm not languishing about in this forum.

Always good to have an idea on either division that could effect us next season.

Plus we’re just drawing all the time which is boring as fuck

Kin ell we were absolute rammel in that first half. Chorley could have scored 3. Big change around for the 2nd when we put it together and the part timers realised how bastard hot it was.

We’ll score a few this season, but Ardley won’t organise a defence while he’s got a hole in his arse.

Battle between two mid table sides today. Both us and Yeovil were very poor for the first 45 minutes. Then both teams sprung into life largely aided by some very poor defending from both teams.

I have to say that I don't think Yeovil are up to much. Murphy will score penalty box goals for them but beyond that they look a very limited side. We gifted them two goals by switching off from restarts. Plus we can't defend for shit at the moment which is backed up by our failure to keep a clean sheet all season. What worries me though is the fact that they didn't seem to have a different gear and were quite easy to bully at the back. I mean, when Joe Quigley is winning everything in the air against your CBs, you know something's wrong. Lower mid table for them I'm thinking based off of that.

Positives for us: Balanta is an excellent, excellent player as is Luque. Both of them have that spark that can turn us from a meh to a fairly decent side in spells. Also, I know most clubs say this, but Elliott Justham is up there with the best keepers in the league. 1 or 2 ridiculous saves today and he has been the difference in the last 2-3 games between us getting 7 points instead of 1-2.

We won't threaten this season as our defence is far too leaky and we'll be up and down, probably quite a streaky team. Still, if others fall by the wayside, maybe we can sneak our way in. The league doesn't seem to be going with the pre-season expectations so far at all.

One rule that needs bringing in for National league matches - when 2 teams play each other the referee should not be from the county of either of the teams involved. Today's inept referee at the Barrow v Halifax match was from YORKSHIRE...

Pretty straightforward win today. First half was pretty awful as no side looked like they wanted to exert themselves too much in the heat. After we scored almost straight from the kick off in the second half Chesterfield collapsed and we were just waiting for a second to put the game to bed.

Very happy with our start. Didn't have much confidence going into the season given our lack of signings but we're looking very solid. Just need to sort out left-back position. Or, in other words, actually get a left-back.

Chesterfield reminded me of us when we were sliding down the leagues. Good luck to them.

Thought we played well today and deserved the win to be fair. Wrexham were oddly diabolical at the back and really didn't trouble our creaky defence much. Thought young Aaron Cunningham was immense - shame the lad is made of fibreglass as he'd defo have a good future in the game otherwise.

Plaudits to Noble & Killip for improved displays and running out of superlatives to describe Gimi Toure - the man is a beast. He probably won't keep it up like as this is Pools after all but still, he's loving his time here so good on him.

Holy cow Quigley scored twice, has to be a points deduction for Yeovil for that and a further reduction for letting off a blue flare. Tinpot.

Not a chance our pen was soft- Hird clearly brought King down as he turned, though I admit we got lucky when the ref didn’t give a free kick for King bringing your lad down just outside the box.

Let Hird know as well that if he wants an FCHT shirt he can buy it online- there’s no need to try and rag Tobi’s off him all game

The game reminded me a lot of the one against Eastleigh, except that although both sides had the better of it first half, we were always in control against Eastleigh whereas Chesterfield definitely had the better of the play and we had to rely on their insipidity in the final third to avoid conceding. And second half, County got the better of things against Eastleigh because the visitors simply gave up, whereas against Chesterfield it was more down to us controlling the game fully (don't get me wrong though, CHesterfield heads definitely dropped second half)

Another good result all the same. Whisper it quietly, but if we can avoid injuries then County are going to threaten the playoffs this season

As Darren Sarll said after the game we're a physical wreck. We can't sustain any impetus because we haven't got enough fit players. When by his own admission the manager is starting players he knows aren't fit and hoping not that they play well but that they can hold on and not get injured then you know you have a massive problem.

Yeah I didn't mean to take anything away from us. We didn't let them play at all. Turnbull in particular was immense.

On another note Chesterfield need to buy Anthony Gerrard some better fitting shorts. He looked like the chubby kid in PE who left his kit at home and had to pick some out of lost property.

Eastleigh 2 up on Solihull. Can't work this league out. All of the favourites have had very indifferent starts.

Really, this suits Notts County down to a tee. They'd have been expecting to probably be a good 8-10 points behind the likes of Fylde, Wrexham, Solihull at this stage but they'll pretty much level pegging. Inevitably, once everything settles down and this crazy schedule moves down to the usual 1 game a week, I'd expect the big names to start climbing.
