Alty are a decent side and can consider themselves unlucky to be behind here

Annoying to be behind as it’s all very even, but this is a high quality game for this league IMO, both teams playing some really nice stuff.

Big issue for us is that the three behind Wootton can’t get up close enough to him.

Agreed been a good game this, both teams playing decent footy, difference is the forwards, both ours look dangerous, Wootton has zero help up against three centre backs who are all rapid.

Oates and Armstrong have been very good at getting in behind, we’ve got no pace upfront so are reliant on Wootton being able to link play which is a struggle against three centre backs. Wouldn’t be surprised if we changed shape soon.

Thought Oates was meant to be rubbish!

Aye we will likely change it soon, have a couple of options on the bench at least, have to hope Pools’ heavy workload recently will start to tell as the game wears on.

He's having himself a purple patch, mind that miss of his was vintage Oates, all the goal to hit, no one near him, spooned high and wide.

Knowles isn’t offside there, everything has gone against us this second half.

No clue how Notts never scored in that second half, they created enough chances to win two games, looks like the disallowed goal was level, so very harsh decision to take.

Great three points for us though, better team first half, backs to the wall, one way traffic in the second.

We were good first half albeit against a poor Wrexham.

Scrappy second half but in fairness we'd played 48 hours before and Wrexham hadn't. Never really thought Wrexham would get back in the game if I'm honest.

Second half was just one of those, should’ve scored four or five at least, but very much continuing the theme of us being a lovely team to watch with nothing approaching a killer instinct or winning mentality.

We were the team who looked like we'd played 2 days prior. Keates definitely gave them the Christmas period off.

Durrell has put on 12 stone since I last saw him.

You were poor bro, not going to lie. Can see why the guys behind your new takeover may want someone else to be in charge to spend the increased budget they will likely put on the table.

This season is a washout anyway.

I think if we can keep our noses in the Play Offs in the PPG table we may just get a shot at promotion and it would depend how we shaped up around May to see if we could go on and win them. We've been far from good enough so far, better first half today.

Torquay will take some catching soon, even with games in hand for some the chasing pack will still be a fair bit behind. You don’t need a team of highly paid show ponies at this level, a well drilled outfit is proving the right manager and a handful of decent players who are 100% commitment is all that’s needed.

Agreed.

They have a steady squad who know what they're good at by the looks of things.

Everyone else is still gelling or bringing in new players every week, hoping it will all just click.

Frustrating day, Knowles certainly onside but if we had a poacher like Armstrong we’d have likely won. The expectation levels at Meadow Lane mean every game at Notts now results in a prolonged tactical analysis and a massive debate about whether Ardley should remain in his post or not, regardless of the outcome, so I’ll be checking out of social media for the night!

Agreed, cant believe we lost that, inconsistent refereeing but we didnt take clear chances, we deserved a draw but hey ho,... still feeling like we can get top half and maybe sneak into the playoffs ?

Now we have a few answers about our players who have been missing lately.

Rhys Murphy waiting on result of a Covid-19 test after family member was exposed. Josh Staunton set to miss rest of the season with complication to a knee injury. Gabby Rogers has handed in a transfer request.

Rogers is a real blow as he's an extremely promising yiung player who has come through our academy. It seems he's both unhappy about his lack of game time and (allegedly) has had a set to with the coaching staff.

Yep that's about it, a settled squad who know how the manager wants them to play. 7 of our squad (all first XI regulars except the crocked Liam Davis) were here in the NLS so this is their third season together under Johnson.

We now only have 1 fit striker though so expect a move into the loan market this week.

Should have won by more today but for some really sloppy defending but these guys have experience of winning a league together and have the belief to keep on going for the win (Johnson always says he never settles for a point) hence the number of late winners we score.
