Salford at Dover next Saturday.
I wonder what their record away win is?

Surely The Brotherhood and NL stalwarts should be testing Salford a bit more rather than seemingly let them stroll to the title?

Hartlepool laid down and died against them the other week which should have triggered an EGM of the Brotherhood.

Of the tinpotters, most have already caved in against them or don't even care. You'll never get any fight out of pathetic bend-over merchants like Maidenhead and the like.

I'm thinking Solihull Motors Rugby Club could make a literal dent in them. The pitch will be reduced to 5-a-side size for that one. Or maybe a midweek Barrow away trip, the toughest place to get a result at in world football.

Undefeated against all the sides above us in the league. Rather average against the sides below.

I'd love to say we will help you all out next month, but they'll destroy us. Harrogate will probably destroy us next week too in all honesty.

As for today I thought as a unit we were superb across the field, and off the field today was a triumph for Paul Doswell and the management team. An Orient fan asked in another thread how we could watch that every week. We don’t, we adopted a plan to get the maximum result from today’s game.

Our strength today was our unity in the way we defended. In the first half you could see why Orient have started the way they have, they were quick and looked dangerous every attack. Going in level at the break was key. Early in the second it was a fantastic run and shot for our goal from Jonah Ayuenga, and tbh Orient looked uncomfortable chasing the game and other than hitting the crossbar at the end we looked comfortable finishing off, despite losing Tommy Wright to a bad challenge the ref ignored.

Very pleased heading home tonight

After the first half we should've been about 20 goals up, it was an absolute massacre. I can't believe we only managed 1 goal but there we are. Barnet are woeful, but they showed what they're capable of late on. Some pacey players going forward who can scare defenders, but as we have the best defence in the league, this wasn't enough to break us.

Barnet will finish mid table I'd imagine.

We won’t be doing anything while we have 8-10 players out injured every week. Our injury list has been an embarrassment for the last 2-3 seasons now.

Knew it would be a tough game and glad it was only 1-0. We’re in an awful place right now.

Considering it’s our youth team playing we’re doing alright.

We’d be top 5 easy in this league if we had a fully fit squad.

Santos, Reynolds, Johnson, Sweeney, Boucaud, Vilhete, Akinola, Coulthirst, Tarpey, Walker

All of these are first teamers, there isn’t a single club in this league that could cope with that injury list.

We've got Manny Smith out though and he'd have them all for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Woeful second half Pools performance, not that the first was much better, how Aldershot never won it is anyone’s guess.

First half we were ok, but had the stuffing knocked out of us by the slightly flukey goal (im certain it was a mishit cross).

Second half we were outstanding and if it wasn't for Loach we would have won comfortably. Shame Howell's overhead kick bounced out rather than in, and looked like we should have had a penalty after Rendell was wrestled to the floor (seems they are only given in World Cups).

Overall a point is the least we deserved and ends our horrible run of 8 straight away defeats. Halifax (H) and Eastleigh (A) next before the FA Cup break, need 4 to 6 points out of those I think.

Surely The Brotherhood and NL stalwarts should be testing Salford a bit more rather than seemingly let them stroll to the title?

Didn't you roll over and wave Vegan FC into the Football League with a white handkerchief?

Collective responsibility, as others allowed them to get to the play-offs then make the final. You guys didn't help by crocking Wallace in the semis, when we were already down to the bare bones.

I was at the opposite end so can't comment on our goal or the penalty appeal, thought we edged a pretty boring first half in which both teams looked pretty crap but we just capitulated in that second half, we had no chance of getting back into it when Bates took off a striker for a midfielder and left a 5ft striker upfront on his own, we were very lucky to scrape a point, can't see your lot struggling this season, seen far worse teams play up here.

We were awful. Very lucky we were playing Braintree. They were slightly better than Dover and can count themselves unlucky really. We play like that again and we won’t do anything this season. Terrible game to watch but it’s 3 points and we move on. We had one shot in the first half and we’re quickly going from the best team to watch to the worst. Absolutely terrible today. We have nothing in midfield. Danny Rowe needs to move on. He gets no chances, nobody creates anything for him. He has to do it all himself. We lack pace this year, nobody runs beyond the defender. We need to bring somebody in and quickly

What I couldn't understand yesterday was that when I arrived at 2.35 why Martin Allen was outside the ground randomly talking to some old blokes by their coach. Surely he should of been involved in the warm up/atleast watching it.

If that was our manager I'd be pissed off why he wasn't actually doing his job.

Can I start the relegation thread or shall I go one better and start using. the conference south one.

When you get completely dicked by a team in woeful form you know it’s game over. Hornchurch Away would be fun.

Salford did look good yesterday but poor tactics from Devonshire handed it to them. We lined up with only two defenders - we've been short all season there and desperately need a couple of new bodies in - and both first half Salford goals were down to errors from makeshift defenders. We then made two subs before the 30 minute mark, bringing on a recognised left back in Cole (why didn't he start) and the game was roughly even until just after the hour mark, when we lost Upward to injury and had no centre mid to replace him, leaving us with two wingers at CM. We were lucky to escape with only one more goal conceded. Loan signings needed urgently now.

I correctly identified Salford and Orient as the benchmark teams in this division after watching them on the first day of the season, before I even saw anyone else. God I hate being right all the fucking time, I wish I could be wrong once - wassit like Master D? :ds:

I was pretty smashed and usually negative but thought we were the better side yesterday. It wasn’t pretty, infact it was dire, but we were ok at times despite giving away an absolute shocker again!

Maidstone is a decent set up, quite enjoyed it my day out! We stopped in Aylesford before, very posh!

Reality has hit home now, I honestly cannot see how any of us are going to catch Salford and stop them winning the league now. Their large budget has effectively handed them the division.

Whilst we've spent money on a few players in the last ten months, in an attempt to build a promotion winning team by signing: James Brophy, James Alabi, Sam Ling and Marvin Ekpetita.

Our squad is mainly built up on free transfers of young players with potential, older players with experience of the National League (Some with FL Experience) and youngsters from our youth team - Who are still learning on the job and not even 20 yet.

Whereas Salford have have basically splashed huge transfer fees and wages on players from the SPL and players from Leagues One and Two - A few who've experienced this level before and know what to expect - Only this time they're being paid a hell of alot more than they were the last time they were here.

We are going to have to win all our games in October to even stand a chance - Whilst we are a good team, we still have things to work on and learn.

The rest of us I feel are going to be playing for playoff places in the second half of the season...........

How does FFP work when Salford inevitably go up? Will they have to get those on massive wages off the books or is there a workaround for them?

I see FGR haven't exactly pushed on due to the rule being in place, will Salford find themselves stalling for a while once they reach the FL?

To redress the brotherhood balance a little though Grimsby are gonna absolutely smash the National League next season.

Ours will literally be a case of who is the worst defensively. We're shite going forward of late, but look all at sea at the back.

Not confident one bit.

You missed Harrison off your list.

We’ve basically had a season and a half with an entire starting 11 out injured. Something doesn’t add up. This can’t be bad luck.
