1st half we looked good for the first 35 mins, hi the bar twice and a goal looked in the offing.
Second half same old doubts we had all of the last 3 seasons crept in. Substitutions then broke up any fluidity and we relied on pumping long balls forward in a hopeful fashion.

I was more disappointed that Saturday's defeat after this one. At least on Saturday we were on the front foot and playing football. Today we just looked like a desperate, clueless bunch of hardworking individuals and not a team at all.

Oh well, next up Wrexham.....GULP!
Outplayed second half by a part time club, shame we haven’t got a recognised goal scorer.

Have Wrexham got ANY strikers who didn't fail to make the grade at The Shay? Just saying... :ds:

The Shaymen remain comfortably clear of these 2 shabby teams. They'll both be cannon fodder for us. :ds:

I agree, a top striker and it was bizarre he'd stayed there beyond the 19/20 season seeing as he was the best in the league even then.

When you pay £150k and £8k a week you get quality, it's that simple. So good luck to the lad.
Don't forget the baby blood and goat sacrifices...

See Wrexham have a player warming up on the opposite side to the Lino trying to keep his team on side. As he’s wearing a bib identical to Notts shirts, proper shithousing

Wootton is the best striker in this league, he's non league's Drogba. :ds:

If anything happens to Kyle Wootton notts are screwed.

Tonight reaffirmed what all chesterfield fans knew... kairo Mitchell is terrible.

One of those points. A bad one if you think we got ahead, conceded an equaliser to a goalkeeping howler and otherwise gave up zero clear chances. A good one if you think that’s a point in the hardest game of the season where we’ve come under loads of pressure. I’d lean the latter.

2 points dropped ultimately, we had more than enough to be winning that. Mullin is a different class completely, his all round game is superb. We do need a midfield though, it’s tough to play games without one.

That Mullin is gonna score shit loads. Looks the perfect striker for this level to me.

Decent point for both at this stage of the season I’d say. Obviously slightly better for Notts given they were the away side

You would’ve had to create a chance. Very, very little other than long throws and long balls against a team notorious for being unable to deal with either.

Is this a joke? Wrexham could have scored 4 or 5

A bit gutted there, nothing wrong with Jones' goal so feel a little robbed. That said, we could have done with playing teams like Notts in a few weeks when we've had a chance to gel as a team. We need to convert the possession into some more clean cut chances, with players like Mullin and Hyde we will score loads when we do.

I thought Notts defended really well, Wooton scored a cracking goal and the draw is probably a fair result. Also we will improve so its not a bad performance to start the season.

Yeah, not a good goal for him to concede.
Yes he's been making mistakes on a regular basis, had a terrible pre season.
Notts fans love him but he's weak coming off his line for crosses and was out of contract, getting older and has lost a bit of spring. We should have signed Ethan Ross. I'd actually start our very good second keeper from the youth side on Saturday.

We came under loads of pressure. That game was our worst nightmare - second balls, long throws, corners, everything this team is supposed to be bad at. Not sure Slocombe had a serious save to make. Could’ve done without him chucking one in his own net, but otherwise we stood up to that brilliantly IMO.

First half you could have been out of sight. 2nd half both teams looked leggy, understandably.

Wrecsam v Notts County; good game to watch as a neutral. The hosts should have won it with the wrongly disallowed goal, but was expecting more of a gulf between the sides after the summer recruitment in N Wales.

I thought he was okay, looks to have something to work with.

He was fine. He’s reserve Wootton thrown into a situation he won’t be often and put himself about.

We scored a great goal that was reffed out and there was a few other close run things. I can’t remember Lainton having anything to do bar get the ball from the net.

Just feels like we’ve been half Devonshired there. 5 points from the attempts of fixturing out is ok. Couple more signings tomorrow for 200k each and we’ll be fine.

Yeah not sure where these chances are that Wrexham could have scored 5. Perfect away performance really. Happy with a point.

It was a nice finish, but our defenders had stopped at least five seconds before it ended up in the net.

I think both teams will be pretty happy with a draw, to be honest.
