Frustrating that. Didn't turn up first half, a fair amount of hoofball as well, which isn't how we play. Two sucker punches early in the second half, and that was that, I thought we were in for a good old-fashioned National League pasting.

The sending off was a turning point, and I genuinely thought we'd snatch a point, but fair enough result IMO.

Our red card here (second yellow) and to be fair Bapaga does jump and gives the ref a decision to make so while it may be a bit harsh it’s not as bad a decision as I first thought:

It happened right in front of me, the ref told him to get away, he had been doing niggly fouls all match and you could see the ref had enough from him, but it did seem a bit harsh.

Chesterfield
Chesterfield despite all the play acting and time wasting look a proper team. They won the majority the first balls and any 2nd then came up. Tipped them for the title before the season started and haven't seen anything to change my mind yet
We Robbed a point there. Thank god we Mullin!

The 1st 2 mins were great then it went south. Could of been 3 down by half time. 2nd half was still poor. I think the Chesterfield players spent more time on the floor then the ball did. Parky finally tries something different and went to 4 at the back and we finally got hold of the ball, 1 of Tozer's long throws finally came off been a waste of time before tonight.
I agree. I’m annoyed we don’t have 3 points

From what people were saying at the time it sounded like he had just had the ball thrown in his face deliberately and got booked for it so I was really pissed off especially when you got 2 goals back but looking at that it didn’t happen like that at all so very silly from him to give the ref the opportunity to send him off.

I thought Grimsby were excellent and just stopped us playing and we couldnt get going. We gifted them the 2nd and 3rd goals with big errors but brought on by the high pressing. Once their silly boy got sent off, we so easily could have got back to parity but a lot of "game management" by Grimsby and they survived, only just. was like the Alamo the last 15mins. Best side we have faced attacking wise. Defensively looked dodgy at times.

Fantastic turn out and support by Grimsby fans :brill:

That was an ugly, ugly win but we'll 100% take it. Thought Dover were actually the better side but wasteful. One bit of quality from Edser won it for us.

2 wins out of 2 on a Tuesday night - can we just ban Saturday games from now on?

You’ll do well to witness a duller game of football than that. Both teams atrocious. Not sure there was a single shot in the entire game.

Yeah it sounded like that from the comms and I do think it's a little harsh looking at what happened as it's kind of one of those ones that's technically a bookable offence but you never see given. But a bit silly given he's on a yellow already, but it sounded like the first yellow was also harsh but then reading this thread it sounds like he was doing niggly bits throughout the match. Still would have been very frustrating to have not won that as it sounded like we were absolutely cruising up until that point. Great win though, Woking up next.

We could be bottom and would still be better than being you lot tonight. What you've just done will never be forgotten by that Halifax Helmet.
Meh. We've had better days. It's only County, not the real Notts team. :bdick:

Had an accumulator on tonight with Notts County and Eastleigh letting me down. I nearly threw in Solihull as well, only to see they also got beat. Are we looking at some of the worst big spending teams in the history of the Conference since the Fylde galacticos got relegated?

Before anyone says it, yes putting money on Conference results is like chucking it in the bin.

Chesterfield will be gutted at that tonight, should have been all over at half time really. Why Rowe isn't taking the penalty is beyond me, man is a dead-eye with set pieces.

Mullin is so good, our best player in every game he plays and he scores all types of goals.

Phil Parkinson clings on for another few weeks. In all seriousness, despite being fixtured out all season so far, he has been far from convincing in a lot of aspects. We shouldn't be THAT far off it, like we were tonight.

Weymouth were atrocious, but they still had to be beaten. A solid performance and another three points. 6th in the table with 2 games in hand.

It was a great game, ours usually are. But you can’t succeed while doing what we do.

We were a bit unlucky (not a clue why our ‘winner’ was disallowed), but the whole approach after the red card was just mad. Just bring some defenders on, mate.
You tried the standard shit housing delaying tactics but when the ball was in play it was like a basketball match no idea why you just didn't sit back and hit us on the break. From the other end I couldnt see anything so no idea.

You shouldn’t keep being caught on the break with eight upfront while 2-0 up away from home against ten men IMO. He’s a lunatic.
One of yous said before the game you'd not seen such an attacking line up for ages. He must have decided there was no point sitting back against our side and waiting to concede, and his best option was to go at us..... Wild has given his side options to switch to, as the game develops. This guy is going places, you fuckers need to open you eyes and recognise the job he's doing here. We are real contenders now. :bdick:

I can’t get my head around the sub we made at 2-0 - Mitchell for Rodrigues. Our third (albeit very attacking) midfielder off for another out-and-out forward, absolutely mad.

We play this mental attacking line up every week.

These are way beyond the money we spent. This is new territory. 3/4 teams now spending Salford money id say. Look at some of the signings. Danny Rowe our top earner so I’m told was on £1100 a week. These clubs have players on treble that, comfortably. When we inevitably get promoted we aren’t going to able to compete with these big hitters anymore. This is a whole new ball game.

They had a penalty and sir danny Rowe didn’t take it? Jesus.

Some comback that from Halifax. Warburton is doing well there by the sounds of things. Cheeky bid to bring him back?

Say it till I'm blue in the face, that Burchnall is another Rusk. Both County's need to get rid whilst they have the chance.
I thought County were the most spineless bunch of pansies going the other week but tonight Notts made you look like the bloody crazy gang.

Even you don’t believe he wasn’t on more than that.
