I'm hoping that when Phil Brown leaves in the not too distant future that Cowley is the number 1 option for Southend and the club do everything in their power to employ him.
That's my concern. In fact, I'm already resigned to us losing him. If he's still here in February I'd be delighted.

Trying to keep our feet on the ground but so happy with being top. Not many sides, if any, will go away to the likes of Macc, Torquay and Tranmere, and come home after winning them all. Looks like we are strengthening again by adding this much talked about central midfielder by Tuesday. Two home games coming up against bottom of the form table Solihull and then fans favourite Cox with Barrow on Saturday. At long last we can smile again being an Imp so will enjoy it while the ride lasts.

0-1 win ?....Well done mate but...................I had a bet on over 2.5 goals which I thought was a stick on but hey ho. My other 2 bets today were up so in front for the weekend.
If you like your over 2.5 goals and also both teams to score then have a look at Grimsby in League 2.
Barring the first week where we won 2 - 0 every league game since has had over 2.5 goals and also both teams have scored. Our last 6 have been:
1 - 2, 2 - 3, 1 - 2, 5 - 2, 2 - 2, 2 - 1, get your cash on us we are the great entertainers!

Delighted to see Lincoln at the top, started really well and that Cowley is a great manager at this level.

Definitely need to keep it up for the next 5 or 6 games because then the fixtures for FGR and Tranmere etc. get a little bit harder, and you could see a gap forming at that point.

Wrexham fans booing after WINNING? Because you're so good you should be beating these non league teams by more than one goal?

No, booing because of what is on offer on the pitch (you can't call it football). We have a goalkeeper and a defence - that's it. We are simply dreadful to watch - it makes Brian Little's tenure seem Barcelona-esque. You expect players to be limited in ability, being at this level, but a lack of passion, fight and failing to do even simple things is un-defendable.

Lincoln really were nothing special. We were just worse. Much, much worse.

Brabin HAS to go. We're not going up until he does.

Better from us yesterday, I wasn’t expecting anything so to come away with a decent point and solid performance was good. Big improvement from the shambles we were down that way at Woking the other week.

Draw a fair result, just wished we’d scored when on top in the first half is all.

That's why I'm still convinced neither of you are capable of running us close this season. That might change if you get rid of Brabin though. You've got the players.

Lincoln are a limited side who play ugly football, which will only get you so far.

Dreadful to watch yeah, but they were trying and there does seem to be sense of togetherness with the players. Bakare was holding back a bit, but apparently he was injured. You can't criticise the likes of Rutherford and Jordan Evans for not trying or lacking passion. Rooney put in the effort and constantly wanted the ball even though literally nothing was coming off for him. I like that about him, it's not really his fault he's such a limited footballer.

Yep, we can only hoof it and don't really score enough goals. Quite agree Chris

Not saying it hasn't worked so far, but ultimately you wont be able to keep hoofing and battering your way to as many points and goals as our total football will get us.

The contrast between the 2 sides when we play each other will be quite something, bit like the old Wimbledon v the dutch side of the 70's.

Wish we could play total football like you guys. When we play you we will just have to admit to have been beaten by a bigger and better football side. Shit happens, just relieved we have 44 other games against the also rans to try and hoof and batter our way into the playoffs.

You mean the Dutch side that didn't win anything and kept coming second? Yeah, I'd go with that.

We defend like them.

Tbf they would probably have won this league.

I'm not sure Cowley is quite Helmut Schön.

Standard performance. Daggers have quite a dodgy defence and if we had a more capable striker we would have capitalised on their errors.
Daggers fans - What's the problem with your board?

We have 3 of our first choice defence out at the mo.

Losing Pennell pre season for the whole season was a blow. Robson has been excellent and he was missing. And then you have Williams who looked solid at this level who's out as well.

Happy with whatever points we get in the meantime

Every Wrexham fan I've spoken to said you were lucky. On of your guys was offside in the buildup but that doesn't excuse our pisspoor defending.

Called it. Ho hum

Not sure where you're getting this from.

Nothing to do with the result or the opposition. We were very fortunate to win and they deserved something from the game. There is a growing amount of dissent building against Mills due o the perceived poor acquisitions over the summer, poor tactical choices and inability to address our biggest issues (no midfield primarily)

I didn't boo myself but I can understand it. We need to improve and quickly. The only positives so far this season are that despite the performances we aren't too far from the top 5, In Jalal and Dunn we've got the steadiest pair of keepers we've had since we had Maxwell and Mayebi and our defence is performing OK with Tilt looking like a great signing.
