Pools dominated first half and were well worth their lead at the break. Must have had 20/30 crosses into the box. Our midfield was non existent.
For first 20 mins of second half I was watching on and off, but either Pools eased off or we switched something, because we suddenly looked a bit better. Roberts came on after 70, instantly dummied his man on the edge of the box, and drove one towards goal that looked like it would have troubled the keeper before an excellent block from one of Pools’ defenders. Then a couple of mins later he pulled up and that was game over really, we were down to 10 and you could see the heads drop. Looks like Bennett, who took his goal well, could be a canny signing for Pools - odd decision by Stockport to let him join them IMO!

Think this is about right - fancied us to equalise with Cal on and us starting to get on top, but the injury immediately ended those hopes. Burchnall really needs to work out why we can’t start games at all, on the back foot in the first 20 minutes every single game.

We didn’t win our opening 5. Think we went top at Canvey Island, at the end of August.
Canvey Island were not in the National League in 14/15 as I know that we have never played them.

??? Go on then, tell me who are the "cool" kids with these days? What's the right ISP for my social class? Oh and, since you "figured" out who I was "with" (AFTER I JUST FUCKING TOLD YOU) and you're obviously good at this, who have you "figured" out my mobile phone is on? Come on Einstein, this is easy for someone as gifted as you......? :dk:

Our record with Danny Wright this season:

Played 18 / Won 14 / Drawn 2 / Lost 2

Without him:

Played 15 / Won 5 / Drawn 4 / Lost 6

Whilst he was injured we went from 6 points clear at the top to 10 points behind Sutton.

Need to wrap him in cotton wool for the rest of the season if we are to have any chance.
One of the best strikers at this level in the past 10 years, no question. Might not score that many but criminally underrated.

What is there to be "rattled" about? Does being with a Virgin Media say something bad about me or something? I have no idea. I'm challenging him to prove his "gift". He claims to have already known I'm with Virgin Media because he's so clever that he actually "figured" it out, presumably from everything I've posted over the past 8 years. But he's only made the claim after I've just told him who I'm with. It's like i just claimed I'd already figured out that you'd come along and claim I was "rattled", it's easy.

Pair of clowns, both of you. :fl:

Should have been criminally charged after his semi final performance against us. Nothing about him bar elbows and fists. Perfect for the way Solihull played

Another thing, I'd piss myself if we swapped places with Grimsby at the end of the season, that would be quite the turnaround from 2016 when you had to pretend you'd let us beat you at Wembley because the truth was too embarrassing. :fl:

Haha yeah we all cared massively about that final, the players cared so much that they were out on the piss for a week before it just to calm their nerves, and I myself cared about the FA Trophy so much that I never went to a single game in it in all our 6 years down there.
I didn’t care when we lost to Wrexham in the final and I cared even less when you lot beat us as we’d just been promoted the week before, and if you believe any different then you’re an ever bigger deluded fool than I thought.

Do you understand how difficult it is to ignore him now? That mute button is a god send just incase you needed any help in that direction
It’s quite disturbing to think that he is actually a grown man, who gets his kicks from trolling a football forum acting as if he’s a 12 year old child.

I’m sure one day it was revealed on here that he was like 57 years old. Screams divorced.

Notts definitely getting on top in the second half without troubling Ravas at all, couple of shots, one just wide, another from Roberts well blocked, I thought we were the better side over the 90 minutes and well worth the three points.

9 points clear of 4th now, we just need to keep plugging away and picking up points and secure 2nd or 3rd.

Yep, can’t disagree with that.

The worst aspect for us (aside from Roberts’ injury) about the result is that it has allowed some of our knobhead fans, clearly incensed by our wins over Wrexham and Woking, to come out of the woodwork and bang on about Ardley again. It is clear they’ve been perched over their keyboard for eight days just waiting for us to slip up. Wherever Ardley turns up next will gain at least a couple of hundred fans from us, it seems.

I honestly think we have the most special supporters in the pyramid at times.

I think our squad is beyond just needing coaching to get the best out of them, it's unbalanced with some glaring weaknesses.
Summer rebuild looks on the cards.

I think you've got the best manager in the league, he's recruited wisely and has you looking tight as a drum.
I wanted him or Daryl Clarke to come to us in our relegation season before Ardley was appointed.
It's all about the managers, owners just waste money on squad overhauls if the managers aren't good enough.

I don’t think it needs a massive rebuild particularly, just the obvious issues to be properly addressed. Central midfield being the biggest one. I only think we’re two or three players away from being the team we expected at the start of the season (one of them being Roberts), but the problems in central midfield really aren’t possible to solve through coaching or with the players we have.

Anyone would think this Roberts fella is the second coming of Lionel Messi the way these county fans bleat on about him on here!!

We get it lads, he’s shown he’s a decent player in the handful of games he’s actually played, but he’s a crock and he’s done naff all over the course of this season let’s be honest.... we’ve all had them flatter to deceive types. I don’t think his track record suggests that any sensible recruitment strategy should be based on building a team around him at this stage...

You're probably right.
Always think of Ron Noades the ex Crystal Palace owner who said that every manager he ever employed said he was only two or three players off being champions. No matter how many he signed he was still always just a couple away.

Appreciate that it’s hard when you’re just looking at short term loanees, but that is going to be the case if we keep signing players like Regan Griffiths. Sure he’s a talented boy, but just not what we needed.

Our recruitment was brilliant last year and terrible this.
I thought we'd got over that problem after having two seasons where we signed over 50!! players in a season.
Only Ellis looks to be a genuinely worthwhile loan this season. That's one in nine I think.
Golden, Richardson, Miller, Walker, Effiong, Knowles, Wolfe, Griffiths. I'd sacrifice all of those for a proper midfielder who costs £1500 -£2000 a week. It's money saved in the long run.
Knowles has potential but he's no replacement for Dennis or Thomas.
