Bottega - what time was the game abandoned? I noticed the score is listed as match abandoned - other. Yet BBC lge table suggests it is classed as a loss, and win for boxton. How does that work?!?

Some absolutely terrific Blyth tears after that, love it. Expected them to be decent given the start they've had but they were terrible.

It was abandoned 5 minutes into added time with 5 minutes left due to thunderstorms and torrential rain, the ball wouldn't run across the ground.

Judging by their players reactions and our manager, he told them that Buxton had won the game. Only after the game he seems to have realised he isn't allowed to do that.

Scunthorpe v Buxton Match Report -

In the minutes of chaos that ensued following the goal, the weather switched from sweltering heat to a thunderstorm, and deep four minutes into additional time, United were awarded a penalty and their best chance of the game. Danny Elliott stepped up to take the spot kick but was denied by the outstretched boot of Dearnley in conditions that were worsening by the second.

Shortly following this, the referee blew his whistle with five minutes of additional time remaining on clock causing staff from both sides to question what would happen next, as the referee strolled down the tunnel ball in hand.

It was later established the game was abandoned by the referee, with details set to be released regarding the fixture in due course once the referee's report has been received by the National League.

I cannot see Buxton playing the full game again at 0-0 when it’s 2-1 and in injury time. May well go to the courts that one.

Couldn’t go again but looking worrying now for curzon….cannot score, too weak going forward this season.

We spanked Kings Lynn 4-1. A perfect hat-trick from Marcus Carver, and a 30 yard free-kick from Jack Doyle put us 4-0 up at half time. Second half they bundled one home early on, but then we kept them at bay and managed the ridiculously hot conditions well (it was hard enough just standing and watching there!).

Three wins on the bounce now, and we are no longer a long ball team.

Went to this, we bossed the first half but Curzon threatened on the counter without really testing the keeper, we scored just before half time, second half a different story, Curzon were in control but a lot of sideways and backward passes, for all their possession didnt really create clear cut chances. Chorley defended very very well and took a rare 3 points away at Curzon. Big Dave you are right, Curzon lack a cutting edge.
Late news it appears we have signed former Barrow striker David Moyo so hopefully that gives us a bit more competition up top.

I'm so jealous with that quote "and we are no longer a long ball team"

That's actually still our style of play lumping long balls to our midget strikers that have absolutely no chance against the trees.

Another grim defeat down at Stortford. I think whoever takes over the mantle at BM will be in for a rollercoaster ride after the summer's recruitment?

I certainly for one wouldn't envy the task of turning the season around, fingers crossed we find somebody with a magic player wand

On the plus side you are guaranteed three points when you play us in a few weeks. Flowers continues to play Danny Wright, I think a training cone would be more effective than him. We have one style of play which is lump it up to him to watch him lose it or fall over his own feet. Meanwhile we have Harry Williams who scored 39 in 41 last season and Ethan Freemantle getting wood blisters.

We love a trip to the courts.
Also gets a defeat for the untouchable manager removed, North Korea style.

Have you enquired about keeping Carver, i don’t think he will be back here.
If a player gets injured now, we reach for the Credit card.

To be fair Southport seem to be doing ok with the new manager bounce, same squad just playing a system that suits them.

Definitely one to forget over at Alfreton yesterday!

To be fair. That's 4 games we've not looked much good. That mad 5 minutes at the end of the blyth game masks some issues

To be fair, you can only beat what is in front of you. But Lynn were dire. I see little Conference North/South football but, on that showing, half that team would struggle to get a game with Cambridge City two levels lower.

Southport just needed to be organised and know what they were doing - they actually had a system. Lynn didn't.

From what I'm aware there is no recall option for you on his loan, he just can't play against you. I'm guessing he is out of contract with you at the end of the season, hopefully we'll get something sorted out for him then.

It's only a couple of seasons since Boston were cruising at 2-0 up at Darlo when the match got abandoned in the 88th minute due to an injury to Nicky Hunt.

They weren't awarded the win, which would have been fair - and the match had to be played again.

And if Scunthorpe win the title by 3 points or by goal difference all hell will break loose in the courts if they win that replayed game.

I know in fairness two games where rain had f*cked Scunny chance of an equaliser is harsh but seems a lot worse to replay 90 minutes for a game with 5 mins left.

Unless Buxton getting the second goal was through the poor weather.

Or yeah I totally agree Southport are absolutely flying.

Whether the new manager bounce has the same positive reaction from our squad time will tell?

We just seem to be struggling at the moment with whatever system we try.

Does seem rather harsh given the timing of the game when it was called off .

I presume at a higher level there would be more of a push for a more common sense resolution.

Seems to be quite a bit of bad blood between the 2 teams over how the game was going generally anyway .

Apparently it was pretty much the same for most of the half and could have been called off earlier ?
