They hit the bar, we hit the bar. They should have had a penalty. Both teams had chances. A draw a fair result from two uninspiring teams.

We have had five 0-0 draws in our last 12 games. We look like we are going to bore our way to safety.

Just saw the penalty incident.

I don't think I have seen a more blatant penalty in my life.

But still, I will take the draw because Southport has never been a happy hunting ground for us.

Billy Heath complaining in his post match interview that referees are going to Alfreton with preconceived ideas of how Alfreton are going to play and aren't giving them anything as a result. About time too!

We got a good away point at Peterborough sports who look like the sneaky ‘where they come from’ side as they are not far from the play offs.

But we have also dropped out the top seven, who would have imagined that at Christmas when we looked a certain for top.

But we have two saving graces, firstly two games in hand and secondly we really only have Buxton, Chorley, Hereford, Chester and kiddy left in the top half, 11 vs bottom half sides and 5 vs top half…….have to make it count or season finished.

Made hard work of that today but thought that would be the case beforehand. Never felt in any danger but whilst there's only one goal in it then you never know.

Don't know the crowd, would guess 700/800 by the looks of it of which 98% of it was us. Threw plenty in the buckets so at least they made a few quid out of the day.
