I think Motors away is a tough game whoever is in charge. Would honestly take a point right now considering the glaring gaps in our squad at the moment.

Solihull are managed by Neil Ardley now, not Tim Flowers. I think they will be decent and it is a really.hard opening game but I am not expecting them to kick us around the park like they used to.

We are still a few players short amd we've got a mini injury crisis at the back but the negativity on our forum is starting to piss me off now. Anyone would think we were relegation favourites reading RP.

RP will never change. I think we will be in the play offs come the end of the season but will be a slow start. Once a few come back and we bring in a CM another CB etc we will be fine

Some on RP are forgetting we have a strike partnership that is capable of winning games on their own.

Might cringe a bit if I see Dave Jones starting in defence though.

100%.

I suppose being pessimistic is so deeply rooted in us now its a hard habit to break. Defence is a worry. If Jones plays I hope its in midfield.

For any Chesterfield fans that were planning on coming down on the day and buying tickets at the gate - we’ve announced this morning that there will be no away tickets available on the gate and you need to buy your tickets online by 6pm tonight.

In terms of tomorrow, I’m expecting it to be fairly cagey first half then Chesterfield to overrun us in the second and beat us 2-0.

Not expecting anything at Stockport, get out with a point and the toughest game on paper all season is done. Maybe a loss by the odd goal wouldn’t be a bad start.

Just happy I’m going to an away game, really couldn’t care about the result as having beers with some familiar faces is more important after the last year or so.
I think you’ll beat us… Especially if Quigley is out injured as many of expect will be the case.

Overnight stop for our lads, for a 2 hour trip. Cash to burn!

No complaints at our players getting proper treatment though.

Any reason why? Giving about 6 hours notice to get a ticket isn't ideal for those at work all day so doubt some will travel not knowing and end up in the home end or just not come alltogether.

Surely clubs should be doing all they can to encourage fans through the gate not giving them reasons to bin it off?

From what I read it’s the Plod getting involved again…

So frustrating considering they’ve had all week to make that decision

I stand corrected… I’d read on our message board this morning that it was, but Spireites Police have tweeted to say the decision is nothing to do with police advice.

That makes the decision from Aldershot even more baffling really

I think is more down to those running the club realising that several hundred home and away fans mingling at the ticket office 10 minutes before kick-off to get tickets probably isn't a good idea. This, however, was pointed out to them a week ago, but as usual, they chose to shut the stable door after the horse has fucked off. The only saving grace is its dead simple to buy tickets online and only takes about 20 seconds...

Interesting to hear the Arsenal manager being interviewed today saying they had 4 covid cases and had asked the Premier league to postpone the Brentford match but they refused and were told to play the match. We of course in NL have had 3 matches postponed this weekend because of Covid.

Does anybody know what the NL league rules are even if they have any? All the clubs who have cried off have been very cagey about the number of players who have got it.

Why’ve they stopped online sales at 6pm tonight then?
It’s a shambles, there’s 3 on our bus who’ve paid for travel without tickets now

So stupid. Town Police have tweeted saying circa 700 fans travelling tomorrow - so loads of space for those without tickets. Aldershot have now ensured those fans will now end up in the home end.

Not feeling confident, we are notoriously bad starters, dont think we have won opening fixtres in last 10 years ! and playing Torquay away who must be one of the favourites for promotion.
At least 100 plus Alty fans are making the trip
Can we have a point now please if I ask nicely Gary :sur:

Couldn’t agree more, no reason to stop online sales right up until kick off. They really are fucking clueless and it’s bloody embarrassing.

Well if they don't get in they can console themselves with hitting the bright lights of Aldershot and mix with the not so friendly squaddies.

Quigley out injured meaning we have the smallest ever duo up top with Madden and Whitfield both about 5’5 and the Villa midfielder is nowhere to be seen :(

Makeshift defence as expected, and Lainton out injured is a big blow. But happy enough with the team in the circumstances

Most Barnet fans don't recognise our team. Half the players barely appeared in pre-season

Looks like Southend with the first goal of the season, followed by Stockport.

None of our midfield want to defend, but we already knew that.

Mullin 1-1 pen. Come on.
