If Notts fuck it up next week, who is worth ransacking their squad for?

Plenty, not that we’ll let any go unless it’s daft money. I suspect we’ll lose the out of contract Lacey to a FL side, but the likes of Roberts, Boldewijn, Wootton, Dennis will be here next season. Hopefully we’ll see more of Tom Crawford and Dion Kelly-Evans.

If it means anything - it took us until our 4th season to get into the playoffs - and lose in them.

I regret the daft wind up last week, deserved the abuse I got. Keep your side together, and you’ll do well.

I note you’ve got Altrincham next season - that was the game that really woke me up, losing 1-0 after conceding after 10 seconds which made me realise where we were. You guys have actually been pretty responsive to things. Like we did - Admit to being non league and then you’ll improve - we spent 2 seasons pretending (and wasting) we weren’t

keep the manager and the players / given the league is pretty poor, Stevenage/macc won’t do anything and I think you’ll win it

Fair play Adam.

Not so sure about Harrogate being a threat next season tho - lot of work to do on the pitch (they only have four defenders, and they’ll be a queue of other sides looking to loan or buy Diamond from Sunderland), and off it (the 3G pitch being ripped up means they’re going to have to ground share with someone for the first few games next season).

Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them and Barrow down there next season, although surely Macc’s time is up (even if they survive the appeal).

lol.

You’ve barely been about since you went into NON LEAGUE, don’t try to hide behind that - even a random Cambridge fan picked up on it.

Enjoy Altrincham next season pal #stain:bye:

That's simply not true.

Random Cambridge fan? You mean Vanni, a guy who believes there isn't racism in football. Not sure he's clased as areliable witness :pmsl:

Thankfully the evidence is on the forum.

Now don't be reading my posts, seeing my questions to Adam and choosing to ignore all next season like you have done this.

Enjoy the Year of the Stag#pimple

I love the fact that, five years since we were last here, we are still regarded as the quintessence of non-league tinpottery.

haha, that wasn’t a dig at your boys, it was more referring to a quote to one of your posters.

I don’t think macc will make it.

I think next season will be tough for a lot of sides, no-one in either league has a clue what’s going to happen, especially if this comes back as predicted in the autumn/winter.

I guess it’s been a little harsh of Harrogate that they’ve had to wait so long for the playoffs - the season starts in 6 weeks.

Well done to Harrogate, full deserved and the best side in the PO's.

County way short of pace and mobility in the side - when you've got Turner, Doyle and Dennis through the spine of the side then that's not ideal in that respect. All too easy for Harrogate to get it into the channels and couldn't press anywhere near as much.

When we finally put some pace on at HT in the shape of Boldewijn and Wes Thomas it was a different game for 25 mins or so. An equaliser then and it could have gone either way. Instead the sucker punch came after some excellent work by Stead (of course) and that was that, wind totally out of our sails.

Think we’ll see a lowering of our average age next season, expect us to find a place for Tom Crawford in midfield, who was just starting to fulfil the promise he came from Chester for a fee with before lockdown happened.

Good points from Luke, was evident for all to see. Just hoping manager also realises it to. Sort the midfield , we should go up next season. Fail to do so, expect the same.

bloody hell forgot about Ben turner - he played 8 games for us (8 too many I hasten to add) Wasn’t close to being good enough- came across as a decent lad but had the turning circle of the titanic

Think you may have got mistaken? He had a terrible debut, but in the last few games and in the play-offs he was really, really good.

Trust me, when you are in the position you are currently in, all it takes is a player kicking up a fuss and they will go for a fair price, not daft money.

I don’t think we have a prayer of keeping Roberts.

I suppose, but you could pretty much say that at any level, even the Prem. I’ll be surprised if any go on the cheap, but we’ll see.

Harrogate groundsharing with Donny an hour to the south, I see.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm already heartily sick the swarms of Sulphurites all over this forum, goading the REAL clubs, sticking 2 fingers up at the naysayers and generally taking the piss out of us all. Still, I'm prepared to admit that it does show at least that they DO have some fans and their promotion isn't a completely pointless waste of everybody's fucking time. :ds:

Bizarre to think that the play-off final was, I think, only his tenth game for us. A bit of a win/win really because if he does go it would be some profit on so few games.

It has to be said, it being behind closed doors and in the midst of a global pandemic does help you get over a loss somewhat. Easily the least bothered I’ve ever been by a big Notts defeat, just never had the same feeling to it.

Dennis and Boldewijn will be here next season, because no one else will match the wages they’re on here (plus a fee), even towards the top of League Two. Wootton we paid £60k for in January, and I can’t see anyone who wouldn’t have matched that then now wanting to pay significantly more. Roberts, however, we’d do very well to keep.
