Famous last words, but even with the players we've limped through from last season with I don't think we'd be relegated. If we can sign a couple of defenders this week then we should be fine.
I don’t think we will be relegated but we need a lot of work and quickly. Wouldn’t be at all surprised with an 18th or 19th place finish

Having just lost to two Conf North teams comfortably and seen us flapping at crosses in every friendly I'm not convinced that we're at the races just yet.

You'll do an Orient. Start poorly, worry that you could drop again then regain some form before the end of the season, finishing comfortably mid table, before winning the league the following season to the joy of everyone who's a football romanticist.

Sounds too good to be true but hope you're right.
You're overdue a promotion yourself .
Haha tell me about it, no one's quite like us in that regard. It's unreal how long we've been down here.

Teams who are guaranteed to be up there = FLYDE, Solihull RFU, Chesterfield.
Teams everything thinks will be relegated but end up in playoffs = Chorley, Ebbsfleet, Dover.
Teams who will be solid as fuck in mid-table and nobody ever notices = Bromley.
Teams maybe Going For It™ but nobody is 100% sure =Harrogate, Eastleigh, Borehamwood.
Teams who you know will do well based on their manager alone = Torquay, Barrow.
Teams who you know won't do well based on their manager = Hartlepool, Dagenham.
Teams who will either sack or lose their manager by Christmas = Wrexham.
Teams involved in the AGM Cup = Aldershot, Halifax, Woking, Sutton.
Teams who will stay up based on having Alan Devonshire as manager = Maidenhead.
Teams impossible to predict = Yeovil, Notts County, Barnet, Stockport.

Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking, next season they'll piss it but will have to make do with mid table this time round.

t.

I don't think Hignett's a poor manager or as mediocre as Peter Taylor, he has good man management skills and gets his teams playing good football. He's not great at organising a defence though but he has to deliver this season, no excuses like he's had in the past.

Chorley will do well. Their style of play is highly suited to this division, they work VERY hard and are well organised. They'll replace Harrogate as the dark horses, Harrogate better get used to second season syndrome. I still struggle to understand why Solihull were permitted to take part in the play offs last season, their ground is a million miles from what should be acceptable in the Football League. :bdick:

Think there may only be 3 AGM cup places this season with events at Gigg Lane :(

Its already looking quite different. 5500 capacity with over 2000 covered seats other bells and whisltes to be added, so while it may not be the most grand stadium in this league or league 2 it has covered the requirements.

And our playing surface is more than a league above that of Halifax's (You''ll get stick for it in NLN)

Off on holiday in a bit so posting this a week earlier than I'd like but hey ho. Hope I've done every team a justice.

Enjoy!
Cracking read and you make some very fair points about us but I think you’ve made the same mistake as the NLP have done when looking at us- we won’t miss Matty Kosylo anywhere near as much as outsiders think, he only played well about 4 times last season and whilst on his day he can win a match from nothing, his hotheadedness had become a serious liability and you were getting 8 anonymous performances for every good one from him last season.

I don’t think we’re very good at all, but we conceded less goals than Salford last year and have kept all of that defence. There will be 4 worse teams than us I reckon, we’ll 0-0 and nab 1-0 wins against too many sides to see us go down hopefully.

"Barnet were also very unlucky with injuries last season and had to do without key players for long periods"

He says that like we aren't already ravaged with a new batch of injuries this season.

Look at all that unused space. Pitch still going to be postage stamp size again this year?

We've announced our squad numbers today. No numbers 5, 8 or 10.

18 players in total, only 8 have played a competitive game for us before. The whole squad has scored a total of 7 goals for Yeovil in their careers.

Darren Sarll has confirmed he will just have Head of Academy Terry Skiverton and Academy Goalkeeping Coach Darren Behcet with him in the dugout tomorrow as they are the only backroom staff he has. Also we have no physio - the vacancy has been advertised twice but not filled.

I wrote that Notts County looked like beating you to the basket case club of the season. Unfortunately it’s starting to look the other way round.

There are rumours that there's going to be some sort of big announcement before tomorrow's game, probably regarding the takeover. I'm not holding my breath though.

Barnet - Out local rivals

Ha ha unlucky Barnet.

You know when clubs claim an intense ‘rivalry’ with you when you really don’t care at all about them?

Yeah, that’s us and BW. Very weird bunch.

Like us and Fylde. Or us and Harrogate. Or us and Salford. Or us and Guiseley. We’re the biggest club any of that lot had played til 3/4 years ago and their fans all seem slightly weirdly obsessed.
