Our only glimmer of hope is that we still have to play Barnet, Havant, Dover and Maidstone. We simply have to win those 4, and then try and get some points in our other three (Fylde, Bromley, Hartlepool).
I still think the gap is too much but at least we’ve given ourselves something with yesterday’s win.

To stay up, we need to beat Barnet, one of Hartlepool/Bromley, and then our last 3 games (Dover, Havant, Maidstone). Despite our win on Saturday I think it is too much to ask

Crikey the south is gonna be tough next year... aldershot, havent if Bradbury stays ( used to love the line about taking the r's out of his surname) billarikey, welling, braintree, maidstone, chelmsford and oxford were superb at our place in the cup.

Wouldn't fancy being in there .

If Havant can somehow get 2 wins and a draw they could stay up as Boreham Wood's run in is tough;-

Sat 30th Mar– A –Barrow–3pm
Sat 6th Apr– H –Sutton United–3pm
Sat 13th Apr– A –Harrogate Town–3pm
Fri 19th Apr– H –Salford City–3pm
Mon 22nd Apr– A –Chesterfield–3pm
Sat 27th Apr– H –Eastleigh–12.30pm

they do have Aldershot and Barnet the last 2 games - but would need a point from one of their other 4 games;- but if Boreham Wood can draw against Solihull why can't Havant?

Sat 30th Mar– A –Sutton United–3pm
Sat 6th Apr– H –Harrogate Town–3pm
Sat 13th Apr– A –Solihull Moors–3pm
Fri 19th Apr– H –Ebbsfleet United–3pm
Mon 22nd Apr– A –Aldershot Town–3pm
Sat 27th Apr– H –Barnet–12.30pm

This thread is done, nothing will change now. Havant are diabolical and play 3 playoffs sides next and Aldershot can't score to save their lives.

The only chance us or Havant have of staying up is if either Gateshead or Ebbsfleet go into administration before the AGM in June, which is remote

Commiserations to the Brains, down by the end of March - But you always knew that this season was going to be a struggle for them.

May god have mercy on them if they end up in the National League North though.

We'll be fine but only because those below us are hopeless. We are pretty hopeless ourselves. 25 points from 10 games when the Americans took over ownership and we brought in a few decent players. Either side of that honeymoon period, we've taken 22 points from 30 games which is utterly pathetic.

If Peter Taylor is our manager next season then god help us.

God has a lot of influence on non-league football it seems.

Your lot checked out of this thread at least a couple of weeks ago.
After 2 consecutive relegations i wasn't counting my chickens about a 3rd too early.

Chapman still playing regularly?
Started pretty much every week. By all accounts he's decent, certainly thought he looked good the 2/3 times i've seen him play

Well it's all over.

Sad to lose a good club like Aldershot but good riddance to all the others. Oh, until Braintree return again like always.

As a final message, it is worth stating that Waddock always said he came back to get us out of this league...

Very unusual to see that sort of gap between 20th and 21st.

Where does the blame lie for this season?

Starts and ends with Waddock. Bizarre pre-season, ridiculously poor signings and a stubborn refusal to change the way we play despite being bullied week in, week out. Was also given more fan raised money after Xmas and instead of getting the goal scorer we needed, spunked it on shite like Goddard and Finney.

Has Goddard been that bad for you? Seems like he’s only ever had one good season and it’s been downhill ever since.

Yep. Was quite please when we were in for him at the start of the season, but obviously he went elsewhere for more money. Then thought he was just what we needed to add a bit of quality when we got him on loan but he just hasn’t looked arsed with it all. Has clearly got the ability to change games, he just seems very reluctant to use it.

I feel like there is a deeper issue starting from the very top but that discussion can be for another day.

Re: Goddard - he's very much a confidence-type player, has shown glimpses but when it doesn't pay off he seems to go missing (which is far too often)
