We've signed goalkeeper Alex Lynch on a month's loan from Wycombe Wanderers. He started the last 4 games for them last season, including the PO Semis and the PO Final.

North injured?

Unfortunately so, something to do with his knee. GB said in the press earlier this week that he was hoping to bring a keeper in before Saturday otherwise Northy would have to play.

Ah. Could be out for a while then! Sounds like more than adequate cover mind.

Connor Calcutt, Ryan Case and Matt Bevans all signed for the club last night. Calcutt we know all about and he'll almost certainly start at Bath tomorrow, as will one of Case or Bevans at Right Back.

Absolutely ridiculous thing to say. Makes him look a total dickhead. I'm pretty sure it's not what your fan base think, but comments like that will have fans thinking bad of you as a Club!
It's a really stupid (and unnecessary) thing to say, but they are the biggest club in the NLS, surely?

Formed in 1992, this the highest level they've been? Of course not. :)

I wouldn't even say we are the biggest because I'm not big headed. We are on of, but there's a group of sides that are all big for this league and can be stable in the league above should they get promoted.

Im sure Jay Saunders is well ''happy'' our chairman made such stupid comments.......talk about added pressure that really wasn't need.

Also its no surprise the usual Maidstone ''haters'' are having a field day with it on the Conference South forum

It may get people talking about you rather than us for once! ;)

In other news Jack Parkinson has left us for Dover

Very strange move considering the other week he said he wanted to give full time football ago & this could be his last chance at playing in the Football League........then turns down a 2 year deal at Leyton Orient to sign for Dover

Like? ;)

Not us, because crowds only take you so far with little to zero commercial income.

Terry Casey's comments didn't need to be mentioned, but it means very little in the grand scheme of things.

Just don't feel 'connected' to the Club anymore really. And being here for a third season is really not doing me any favours.

Just don't feel it like I used to, unfortunately. I will still go whenever I am off work, but it just feels more like a chore than a pleasure.

As I said, I hope it comes back. I really do.

I know how you feel, I was kind of losing the will for much of last season. However it'll be a feeling that will probably go. My enthusiasm for all things SUFC has been rekindled in the last few months, I even have a season ticket (despite a round trip of 410 miles for home games). Even if the whole '3G derby/ El Plastico thing for Saturday is cringe-worthy.

Although the comments about being sick of this league is a bit BBB (is it a Kent thing? ;)). And it could be worse, you could have spent 3 seasons in the Isthmian league playing tinpot sides such as AFC Hornchurch, Harrow Borough and Kingstonian.

Last season really was the worst I've ever felt watching us. I'm excited for Maidstone, but I just can't get up for Basingstoke at home. If I've got extra work on past 2pm, I'll take it. If not then I'll head to the game. Meh. I'm sure I'll get it back. ;)

Wasn't meaning to sound BBB. Just genuinely fed up.

You think thats bad.......i remember watching Maidstone play on village greens & parks with abit of rope round the pitch

The days of playing Aylesford Paper Mill, Guru Nanak, Scott Sports, Eltham Palace, Snodland, Bearsted etc

Ryman Premier was a godsend compared to the time we spent in the Kent County Leagues :bg:

Great day out in the sunshine at Sutton. Peach of a lob by Healy for the first and a deft header by smallest man on the pitch Akrofi for the second. Sutton played some really neat stuff as they dominated the opening exchanges. Decent gate of 1300, half of which were from Maidstone.

Definately a step up in terms of quality from that which we were treated to last season in the Isthmian Prem. Pretty hyped for the rest of the campaign now.

We lost at Bath today and I'm not quite sure how. Will post a mediocre match report tomorrow.

And here it is...

Bath City 2-1 Wealdstone (Att: 641)

Well getting to Bath yesterday was an absolute nightmare, it took over 4 hours to get there from Romford with traffic coming to a standstill repeatedly on the M25 and the M4. Fortunately the players coach was held up in traffic too so KO was delayed until 3:25pm, which was the exact time we arrived at Twerton Park.

As for the game well we dominated for large periods, this with a team that only had one competent defender and key players missing/suspended. Bath scored a rather soft goal from a FK before we deservedly equalised from a corner that ended with a Jonny Wright header finding the back of the net.

We tired in the 2nd half and Bath started to get a foothold in the game, their winner was a clever through ball which caught make shift centre back Michael Corcoran out of position and was duly dispatched by Nick McCootie.

Me and my estimate of 140 other Stones fans applauded the team at the final whistle as we deserved a point at the very least (imo). Play like that all season and we'll be OK. :)

Wealdstone 1-2 Concord Rangers (Att: 664)

Should have led at half time, but didn't (I feel for Josh Hutchinson). Second half was dreadful, Concord's winner on the 46th minute was probably the softest goal I've ever seen us concede.

Majorly fucked off with that 2nd half performance.

George Barker (ex Brighton and Swindon) signed for Gosport Friday, and played second half against St Albans. Seems a good signing.

2-0 win for the Fleet in a tight game in front of a (current) capacity crowd of 2363. Have to say was pretty impressed with Ebbsfleet - strong, well drilled and plenty of quality from front to back.

He had one game on loan with us back in 12/13 in League 2. He was anonymously dreadful.
Jordan Parkes was always a decent player, it's a shame that we never tried him in midfield - he might have been able to make a career in the Football League out of it.

He still can! Still young enough.

He'll have interested parties by the end of the season, you can be sure of that.
