All the ingredients of a classic, this! We’ve lost 2 in a week but were far better at MKD on Tuesday than at Bury on sat (0-4) and could have gone on to win had it not been for a soft pen and red card. Add to that we’ve been quite good at home lately and scoring a few goals, and I’m quietly optimistic, especially given Swindon’s poor form. We at least have a bit of pace up top these days (and the phoenix-like Jon Stead), having watched the Swindon v Cambridge highlights I’ll be hoping we can exploit what looked a defence caught out by the pace and movement of the U’s.

I do rate quite a few of the players in the Swindon midfield tho, although it sounds like Doughty could be out. We will at least have Milsom back to help out there.

I’ll go 1-0 Notts (Boldewijn)

Be interesting to see what Kewell does with the midfield now that Milsom is back. Vaughan was excellent on Tuesday and if he can start contributing like that regularly it’ll be a huge boost, and Alessandra has been our player of the season, so it’d be harsh to drop either. There’s probably an argument for Milsom not getting straight back in and sticking with the same.

I think we’ll generally be good at home now. MK showed that even against a good team, we’re capable of performing on bigger pitches with a bit of space. Our problem is going to be at places like Bury where we just get suffocated and dominated physically.

Need to get 3 points here with the performance from Tuesday. We can't drop back into the same form as last weekend.

Milsom back and I'd imagine Turley will have the red removed too. Think it'll be a low scoring one so either 1-0 or 2-1 and quietly confident a win for Notts.

Don't see us changing much until Brown goes or we recruit well in January.

3-0.

Bottomless brunch in the capital seems a perfect lead up to the 3 o’clock kick offs today. Should assist whatever this result in this game

Correct match thread title. Have no idea whether Milsom will come back in or not. No idea which Notts side will turn up. So can’t do a score prediction

Is your chairman loaded by the way? He was on Football Focus saying you are losing 2.5 Million a year. This year’s loss will begin with a 3. Is he plugging the losses?

One strange line up from us. Brown really is guessing and hoping for the best.

What a fucking clown.

Great half of football. Notts deserve to lead but Swindon look a threat, both teams skating on the edge of a red card, Doughty got the crowd involved with some hilarious play acting, Phil Brown remonstrating on the pitch in jeans and sheux, all good fun.

County should have been out of sight in the first half.

Much improved showing from us in the 2nd half, illustrating what a fucking shambles of a starting XI that was from Brown.

Sid very lucky not to see red.

My patience with Kewell is wearing very thin. Played a stupid team at Bury last week and blamed the players when we got hammered, made an idiotic substitution this week when were 1-0 up and in control, then blamed the players again. Sub-Mourinho bullshit.

After we held on with 10 men away to Swindon with little bother I assumed that county would win.

When hemmings scores - as regular as sightings of Halley’s Comet - you thought it would be home win, apparently not.

GIven Swindon have been under pressure under brown, that’s a good win.

Hemmings could have scored four, should have scored at least two.
BIt harsh on Kewell Jacob, Tootle was hobbling and had to come off, that the squad is a mess and the substitute options weren't great isn't quite reason to sharpen the knife yet.
We should have gone into half time two up. We don't score enough , defence is always on a knife edge because we never get the second.
Fair play to Swindon , they clung on in there and took their chances.
Sickener of a game to lose, caps off a terrible week.

Revolutionary stuff once again from Adam, great input on the forum

Amazed we came back to win. Not sure if it was luck or judgement but Brown's subs seemed to make the difference so credit where it's due.

Hopefully Notts can stay up. Could do without another proper club entering the abyss.

Still expecting a bit of a pasting at Colchester Tuesday night however.

Kane Hemmings is a terrible striker based on yesterday

Brown seems to think yesterday was a turning point when the truth is we were terrible and got lucky.

His haphazard team selections and then changes, points to a bloke that hasn’t got a scooby.

There were three actual defenders on the bench that he could’ve brought on rather than completely upset the balance in midfield - one of them Kewell actually signed himself!

Hemmings is a good player but not a natural goalscorer, exactly the same as Stead. Which makes it even weirder that Kristian Dennis has been exiled to the land of one minute substitute appearances.

Out of interest seeing as we play County next week, what is going on with Dennis ?
Notice he is regularly sub at the moment.

Our fans were suicidal when our alleged 100k bid wasn't enough or our paltry wage offer.
Hindsight a great thing but maybe we have got away with one there ?

There must be a reason behind the scenes. You don’t pay six figures and then plan on not playing a striker who is clearly different from a Stead/Hemmings, and should (on paper) be a good combo up top.

Hindsight is the one thing all fans have over the manager / chairman. Some need to remember this, makes the whole Football thing a lot easier
