^ I'm a fan . I'm guessing the orange kits back in the early 70's came as a bit of a shock to the fans, I mean they were quite the departure from the usual blue and white Halifax colours.

Having said that, I think the worst offenders as far as Halifax are concerned were the early 90's efforts, the Coventry and Man City inspired kits. What were they thinking?

as usual, our special Portugal Pre Season training kits are miles better than our actual kits

Fans stopped worrying about the break with tradition when they saw the club battling it out for promotion at the top of the table with Aston Villa, Fulham and Preston and going on to beat Manchester United in the Watney Cup. When the following season saw them struggling in the bottom half, letters started appearing in the local rag, pleading for a more "progressive" kit (progressive is that word people use when they can't think of anything else to justify an argument). As Salford have discovered, fans will forgive any "crime" if it brings success.

Absolutely love both of ours for next season, blue and gold is a new one for us but it looks sleek and stylish, whilst the away kit was picked by the fans; we had some absolutely iconic tangerine and blue home kits in the 1970s that are still well loved by the fans, so it’s good to see the board acknowledge the old club’s history and serve this up, the best pair of Town kits I’ve seen in my lifetimeView attachment 11097View attachment 11098

I don't know if they've done it consciously but they've taken the home and away kits from 1970/71, swapped them around and tarted them up a bit:

Here's our new home kit, not a lot of happy reviews to be honest

This is ours...Totally moved away from yellow & black and back to red as we were previously until the 1980's. Raging Bull are the manufacturer so a definite "rugby" look to the away one.

I present you with the 2019/20 champions kit.

Very happy with these kits, much smarter looking sponsor, and prefer the red away kit compared to the awful ‘Barnet esque’ orange away kit of last season. :dk::dk:

Are we Shrewsbury in disguise? We play in blue and white ffs, not blue and amber, somebody within the club has dropped a right clanger there.

Away kit is spot on however.

Not a Wealdstone kit for sure, but not as bad as I feared. Last time our chairman picked a kit, the same colours as his daughters pyjamas that time, it was similar to this and we won the the first ever non-league double! Maybe the chairman’s son has PJs like this.

White stripes boarded by yellow would look good and be in your colours but not yellow boarded by white. Did enjoy my visit to you a couple of years ago, not the result however against Chelmsford.

Underwhelmed tbh. I like the collars but I know a lot of players find them annoying & cut them off, and aside from that it's very nondescript. It's been a while since I've bought a home shirt and don't see that changing any time soon

New Torquay kits. The white is the away shirt and the dark blue is our third kit.

Quite nice, like the simplicity. The second and third kits look good imho. Only issue is not too keen on the short/sock combination for the home and away kits (would have liked yellow socks for the home instead of white).

A few changes this year as no main sponsor as the club have decided to commemorate our 120th anniversary instead. Also due to the club's partnership with ProDirect they'll be sold online through ProDirect (as well as in the club shop).

The home kit is near enough identical down to the final detail of our kit last season. Even the collar and the sleeves are the same colour!!

Those Torquay shirts look great. Simple, but classy.

Torquay ones are nice. Those Stockport ones though.... The words cheap and nasty come to mind. No wonder all those people on the photo look miserable.

Our CEO explains why we don't have a shirt sponsor:

"It was a tactical decision not to have a sponsor," says Edwards. "The 120th Anniversary shirt, with the '1899' logo, was such a success and, on the back of that, it was an ideal opportunity to use it again and as a potential brand going forward.
This has helped to put Torquay United on the map. We are picking up more supporters around the world all the time. The aim going forward is to put the club in a marketing position which it has not enjoyed before. Pro-Direct are the leaders in worldwide web promotion of their products, and there was a natural progression in working more closely with them."

We are officially big time now!
