This isn't a criticism of Morecambe at all, but what's with the Alan Partridge like slogans that football clubs seem to put out alongside a kit release?

'This jersey is not just a jersey. It is a feeling'.

Just stop it please, someone has probably been paid quite a lot of money to come up with that horse shit.

This'll go down well with the older lot, not quite enough red for me but I think it's still a nice kit.

How the sponsors sit on a shirt usually makes or breaks it.

The version with the Virgin Wines logo is the cheapest-looking shirt in football. What are they playing at?

Maximizing income through 5 shorter runs at sponsorship rather than the usual 1 sponsor. 99.9% of fans will buy without a sponsor which looks ace so I imagine no-one cares tbh.

They'll all be stick on type ones because we're using 5 different sponsors through the season. The shirts are bought without a sponsor and a sponsor added at the Club Shops if people want it but I doubt (m)any will.

Our Vice Chairman is Mr. Virgin Wines so that's the connection there.

Yeah, I've read about that - still though, how have they got two different shades of red and the box doesn't even line up with the stripes? I like the sponsor-less version though.

It doesn’t look as if there are any hoops involved or they are going to be very thin

We’ve announced a deal with Macron.

Definitely an upgrade on the owner creating them in house with his made up company “Elev8”!

In house can be hit and miss but I think you're more likely to get an iconic kit which is countered by some utter dross.

Our best kit of recent years was an in house one in 2015/16, a reproduction (effectively) of our home kit from 1985/86. The best Puma kit we've had since was the 2019/20 away kit which was white with a yellow/blue diagonal stripe. The rest have been ok but not a standout between them.

Yeah, I can see what you mean. I’ve not been overly keen on any of the kits we’ve made in house. We tried pinstripes which didn’t go down too well then another which was solid blue with white sleeves and that went down even worse!

At least with having Macron we get to share kit suppliers with the greatest team in the world, Bolton.

The kit manufacturer couldn't even be arsed designing a logo, so no wonder the kit is bad.

That thing on the right hand side of the shirt is the logo. I’m not going to bash the company as it’s based in Doncaster so at least it’s local but it makes more Rugby League tops than football, it’s more disappointing that James Coppinger has been involved with the design though

That would probably be a lot better if it had white shorts.
Some whit on Twitter says it looks like one of those old fashioned oven gloves, I don’t think white shorts would improve it. Not happy that we have lost our hoops for pinstripes

Yeah I get that. It just looks too far too red for you so my thought was that maybe white shorts and perhaps white socks could just negate that just a little and make it look ever so slightly more 'Doncaster Rovers'.
