So basically if your kit provider is Puma you are getting the same shirt unless you are selling in the millions. You'd think one of the worlds biggest sports brands wouldn't be that lazy though.

That's the trouble, we don't think properly as a club. One star for every five years in the football league? Whoop de doo. If they waited until 2020 it's our 125 year anniversary, that at least would have been a decent reason to do something like that.

Under the Trew era we had a gold star on our shirt, no one ever understood what it was for, FA Cup winners, oldest blah blah, founder members of the league, seller of the biggest sausage, most sheets of paper on our loo rolls.
Safe to say it lasted one season and it's no longer there!

So close to being good if they ditched those stupid bubbles at the side for solid stripes, could've been worse though.

Like that, it would be even better if the middle black strip wasn't there and the bubble stripes were thick black, just my feel on it. Still like it though

Errea are ace I must say, they've also been releasing retro kits from years back which are really good too

The quality of their shirts have got a lot better over the last few years, certainly for us since 11/12, There were times when their shirts were of a shocking standard, our 08-10 shirts for example where it felt like it was going to rip everytime you put it on.

It was our first year with Errea last season and they were one of the most widely liked set of kits we've had.

And the tinpot award for 2017/18 has already been sewn up (if you'll excuse the pun).

Thankfully our sponsorship with Sondico has finished, poor quality kits. We'll now be with Umbro for 2 seasons, should be a large upgrade.
I quite liked Sondico's designs though, more than any we had last time we were with Umbro. When your colours are blue white and red you need to do something a little more to stand out. This season's third kit was a total scam however... didn't even wear it once, and I think a lot of people bought it because they didn't say when they brought them out which was the regular away and which would be the third. It's fine to have a third just in case you draw Dog and Duck in the FA cup but don't put it on sale.

Not a fan of our new strip, imo last season's effort was better. But I agree with Tom as it could've been worse, and he's right about those spots too. Would've been much better with solid black stripes at the side.

Re. other manufacturers like Errea and Sondico, I reckon they do come up with nice shirt designs esp. the latter. But in the case of Errea, I was told that they do have trouble replenishing shop stocks, and footy clubs cannot afford to have empty shops and a long list of fans wanting to buy the new kit but are simply unable to. Don't know anything about Sondico though, all I know is that I find their kit designs interesting.

Yeah, fans really want to buy the kit at the start of the season, since with them only lasting for one season, a lot will decide there's no point once you're a few months in. A couple of years ago due to some kind of fuckwittery, our kits didn't go on sale until after the first few games had been played.

With the bigger names (and we shall see what Umbro provide us with), I do fear a bit that they're only really interested in doing the kits for the top European teams and feel that the likes of us should be happy with having our badge slapped on one of their generic designs.

I've only noticed issues with Errea once in fairness, that was some time ago though now.

We're quite lucky in that our kits tend to have a 2 year shelf-life with the club alternating the home and away kits annually (hence we're getting a new away kit this summer). The fact we've only had 3 sponsors and one kit manufacturer since 1999 helps that a lot mind.

Not sure what ours will look like yet but our new manufacturer us football Thailand (FBT)

Apparently Doncaster use them. I dread to think what we will end up with.

Never heard of them. Did one google when it was announced though and fecking hell, what an eyesore. Still, wouldn't be buying one anyway, just as long as they get rid of the fucking stripes.

Same kit as last year, was always going to be for two seasons. Thought we should have gone even more garish though, clearly worked for Huddersfield and we're not far behind.

We have Puma this season and our Chairman states it's not an off the shelf effort and that it's unique to Notts.
But yeah, it's going to be black and white stripes isn't it!

The only issue with Errea was when we first went over from Sondico as they are Italian sizes which tend to be smaller than the usual so a few 'bigger' lads had skin tight tops!

We've had three a season by choice which makes it expensive but love the more bespoke design than say Nike or Puma.

The retro remakes they've done have sold very well too... this 1991-92 away kit remake just released:

That kit is fantastic. I also love the fact they did Norwich's bird poo kit last season as well

A lot of Cheltenham fans can't stand Errea, but that's because they're not Nike or Adidas, etc.. Me personally, if the kits are more bespoke, or at least a template that isn't as well known (back in 2003 we had the same template as Brighton, but we were the only teams with it in the whole of the Football League) then that far outweighs the negatives.

So glad we won't have to see you wearing that. Hope they don't televise FGR v Vale. My TV will break

What's a Kalamazoo? I used to live near a place in America called Kalamazoo.

Bit before my time so not sure what they did but they went bust years ago. Better than when we were sponsored by PMT mind!

Don't know, it smacks of looking to the past a little, besides I can't imagine HG without a Bingham related avatar, and I've had Roddy Collins for pretty much my whole time on here/TFF. Alan Partridge can't exactly have a non-Partridge avatar, so that leaves redfox who still needs an avatar, CUFC17 who did always like the Jabo avatars and various other United fans who don't post too often.
