A big surprise, but did OK after taking over from Hayrettin by which point they were already doomed. They did well to finish 22nd when they were 24th most of the season.

Have to say I'm a bit under whelmed with this appointment, guess we are going for the cheap option. But hey ho, will give the guy a chance.

They certainly did. No idea why they sacked Quinton in the first place to be honest. Hayrettin was a hideous appointment. The bloke is one of the worst non league managers out there.

Danny had a great rapport with the fans even before Maidstone did us a favour and took horrible Hakan from us. His enthusiasm and football knowledge was already reaping rewards and if he had been appointed earlier I honestly believe we may well have avoided relegation.
Needless to say our fans are gutted and as far as I know are refusing to buy season tickets until we know who will be our manager.

Danny said all the right things in his press conference, in terms of the fact he wants hard working players that want to learn. I could sense the enthusiasm and that he sees this as a huge opportunity. Its just his lack of experience that worries me more than anything.

The key thing for me too is that we are remaining full time as I think that will be a big advantage on the majority of clubs. Also it helps that apart from Finney and Grant (who he coached at Braintree last season), he can sign whoever he wants within the budget.

I imagine you'll be raiding Braintree for their better players.

They lost most of them throughout the season but Ben Killip, Mo Sagaf and Dan Matsuzaka were the few players who are probably NL standard.

Yeah. Killip has always looked decent when I've seen him

We were pretty damn terrible, but he looked proper decent when I saw him play against us.

Literally Anthony Limerick MK2. How are you affording to stay full time as well? I have a feeling this won’t end well for you. Unless you get a reprieve with Gateshead going bust..

Shots should be able to pick up the cream of nls south players on club reputation if they have the right man in place even if they pay a tad less!

The new guy needs a clear 3 year plan to get to mid table national league and as shots have no money they need a top coaching manager someone that can take a decent player at that level and convert them to a top player at the level above .

If you would have told a fgr supporter 3 years ago that monthe and norwood would be playing in the championship or a barrow supporter that cookie would score 20 in league one they would have ordered you a straightjacket . But with great coaching and development it was done .

Shots are a league club nevermind national league and the only way to achieve this is through their development system , aldershot is a massive name in that league and just on that should be able to attract a top quality set up

Everything you say is correct but it has to be matched by our board and our chairman and that is where question marks are raised. He certainly has his own invested, personal interest and that may well hinder us long-term.

I admired what he did with Braintree at the very end. He had nothing to lose, so just played as many young but talented players as he could - trying to implement a passing game.

Last game of the season they were difficult to beat and at times kept the ball well - Had nothing up front though in terms of a real goal threat, but that was to be expected given their league position for most of the season.

Feeling much more optimistic with Searle and Uddin - both young and hungry and exactly what we need after the last few months with Waddock looking completely deflated & disinterested.
Will be interesting to see how many of last season’s squad they keep on, and the calibre of player they bring in - both should have decent contacts for this level so next few weeks could be very interesting.

Goalkeeper coach in making it more staff than players and no confirmed league to play in as of yet. Sacked our assistant last season for 'financial reasons' makes this seem odd on the face of it but what people don't know is the truths behind the departure/our chairman's questionable request.
