Happy New Year to all and may you and your team have a good year.
Hopefully there will be a full set of fixtures.

Don’t waste time. 12/5 for a Cobblers win is massive. We’re absolutely dreadful atm - last night was the worst of a string of dreadful home performances.

Assuming that there are no games called off, FGR have seven games lined in January:
Stevenage, Exeter, Colchester, Northampton, Mansfield, Carlisle & Tranmere.
That is a massive ask to maintain a winning momentum.
I would not be surprised that come February there will be another EFL2 leader.
Damn Covid!!!!!!

Unless we get a plethora of positive tests over the next couple of days Bradford's situation must be the only thing that puts our game in doubt.

We've really got to be better than last night, but can see another draw.

I'm starting to get a bit worried about us, this is simply a must win.

2 bottom teams in the form table. It'll be a shite game. A scruffy one nil would do but I think Lee needs a performance, people already on his back.

Is it too much to ask for a plethora of new signings in for Saturday?

As Soup said above, I think Lee needs a good performance alongside the win, we've been pretty crap under his management so far, Saturday is the perfect chance, opposition team bottom and in turmoil off the pitch, played midweek also, we're fresh and should be well up for this.

Don't win and I'm worried.

I can't believe the stupidity of this decision...imagine, you have a couple of players who would have tested positive on the day of a game, but they are not tested because they don't display or experience any symptoms of the virus (most footballers are young, fit and otherwise healthy so may not notice anything is wrong)...they can then (potentially) go on to infect other members of their squad and the opposing team. There has already been a fixture backlog due to the enforcement of a sensible ruling regarding COVID testing...will it make the situation better if we adopt this way of doing things, sadly I do not think so.

But also, we’ve not played since December 11th so we could be very ring rusty. Also it sounds like a few have been symptomatic and under the weather so who knows who is fit.

Seems like a short gain win for a long term lose there - agree with you

If that’s the case, it could be a languid classic. We’ve had 16 players down with Covid and it showed last night. A couple were blowing out of their arse after 15 minutes. That aside we were still appalling.

We’ve had 2 more players test positive this week despite most of the squad being in isolation for 10 days with our last 4 games postponed.

Will probably be missing a few on Saturday but as things stand game still on.

Obvious answer is just to play on and extend the season into June have 2/3 weeks off in July then have the EFL and Lge cup as pre season then start the season in August

Another answer would be to extend the season...Start next season later and postpone all cups bar the Fa Cup next season.

Surprised that Swindon didn't beat Stevenage last night, really - I know their home form is not the best, but I did have this down as a "one of the very best teams in the league vs one of the very worst teams" clash. Who knows how we will do on Saturday?

Things can change quickly at the moment, but I have been told that our game with Bristol Rovers as it stands will go ahead on Saturday.

Biggest game of the season for us and Carlisle really.

We threw away a very important 3 points there earlier in the season due to Neil Cox's scared tactics, would be great to avenge that and pick up all 3 this weekend.

We were excellent in the second half against Oldham last game, play like that again and we stand a real chance. Play like we have in almost any other game this season and we don't.

Not winning is unthinkable at the moment. Our home record is keeping our heads above the waterline, and three of our next four league games after Saturday are away from home. I agree with the other Pools fans on here... Graeme Lee needs a good performance and a convincing win. I thought that fans would give him a decent crack at it, given that he was a popular player here. But he is already getting an uncomfortable amount of stick on social media if not (yet) at the games.

I was going to be put £50 on it as was certain it was going to come in, stevenage have been on a slow but steady descent to the bottom - but as it’s christmas and i’d ate and drank too much and i fell asleep.

So there you go boys and girls, if you eat and drink too much you actually save money :)

We have no isolating so all looks good unless Harrogate have any issues.

Hopefully we can get a result, they seem out of form at the moment.

I really hope so!

Was back in Bristol for Christmas and the only game I was about for was called off. Then I came back to London and bloody Crawley game was called off, can’t be having this off as well - that’s all my ‘local’ ones at this rate

Covid aside, you’ll catch something standing on the Bank again when it’s pissing down!

From memory I think this is the first time in recent history that FGR have topped table at this time of season.
The last time were were doing so well was in Conference when Cheltenham nipped ahead of us sometime around the Xmas period and stayed there until final game.
As others have said FGR do have a habit of slipping up in 2nd half of season.

Our CEO has tweeted this evening more or less confirming that as it stands, we are on. But of course until we're all in the ground and the game kicks off things can still change!

We've not played for 2 weeks and lost 2 games. We lost our best player Tom James 3 weeks ago for the next 3/4 months and had no proper cover for him at RWB - We was literally going to have to have someone cover there until this game at the earliest as we have no natural replacement or cover. If he is fit I would expect Theo Archibald might play there, but he is more suited to being a LWB, but Craig Clay may also end up there and has played there this season when needed too.

At least we will have Omar Beckles back. Only had 4 subs in our last game, but Jackett doesn't really use subs with us as it doesn't seem to rate our strength in depth - particularly in the forward areas. January will be interesting for us as we need around 4 experienced players to help us through the rest of the season.

No idea what to expect, but from experience though games between teams who haven't played for a few weeks at this level can be hard watches.

Orient have played the same games as us 1 point worse off and have a goal difference of 16
