Poor quality game yesterday, but nice to be more clinical which is no coincidence when it’s the first time Cook and Angol have played together since the end of August. First win since end of October so much needed. We need a new striker for when Angol gets injured again.

Not bad though considering we haven’t played in 3 weeks and had 17 Covid cases and have only trained something like 4 days in that time.

Onto Carlisle where we usually stink the place out in recent years, if we can get another scrappy win happy days.

Also Agombar stool Indian Dan have you seen one of our disabled fans trying to run over McKirdy in his chair after he scored the 5th yesterday? Made me laugh

Yeah, saw that. Plus another giving the old wanking gesture, too.

Good stuff!

He once pitch invaded many years ago with about 50 others, everyone cleared off the pitch and he took ages to get off the pitch because of his electric wheelchair haha

Pools & Oldham were both shocking yesterday, but I did have a laugh at some of the sitters that were missed.
We’ve had some good awful players over the years ,but Oldham’s no7 surpassed all of them.
I predicted a struggle with these two charge & unfortunately I am right.
If it wasn’t for our decent start to the season,we’d be well & truely in the shit.
The feel good factor we had in the first few months of the season has now disappeared & I don’t think I’ll be arsed with the FA Cup game.

The dog shite football is enough to put anyone off going but sticking the away fans in the Town End and scattering us across the remaining three stands with enough for me to not bother with it.

That was a very odd move, seemingly triggered by a belief that Blackpool might bring as many as 1500!

Even if that was the case, it would have been simple common courtesy to contact Town End ST holders and give them first option on any other part of the ground. Instead the club seems to have already spoken to the lads in the corner before making any announcement. Piss poor really

Yeah I could understand it if we'd drawn a big club and Pools wanted to cash in on away ticket sales and for the pisspot trophy absolutely go nuts who cares, but haway Blackpool aren't even gonna break a 1,000 for a 3rd round 12:30 kick off at Pools, never mind a Town End full, bonkers really, dunno why Pools are bending over backwards to cater for 100 or so fans, they'll be picking the team next.

Serious question. When clubs say they have - insert number - of players with Covid and ask for a postponement do they have to prove it and they’re not just calling it off because of injuries.
Yep, they do. Our CEO described the protocols the other day. Pre-match testing is done on a Thursday morning, to give enough time for any PCR's if needed, via LFT's. If any LFT's come up positive, the player(s) in question are sent for PCR's and they're used as evidence (they're obviously booked in the players name and are traceable).

But then on a match day, LFT's would suffice but that caused all sort of issues and late postponements, which is why the EFL have scrapped matchday testing now.

It's mad, Blackpool bring 5 or 600 max let's face it. I'd be surprised if it's much more than that.

The NWC have done wonders for the atmosphere but have way too much power. Think I mentioned Raj and fan groups earlier. As someone who was a town end regular, I'd be pissed off if I was permantently scattered to cater for 46 Salford fans. I know we had the Rink End traditionally but that was before my time. They are doing a canny job alienating a large portion of the fan base.

Good game, two teams going for it at both ends until the legs went on our players, especially our back four.
Honestly thought that when John Guthrie scored our second that we were going to be 'comfortable'.
However three weeks off did us, it could have been a few more for Swindon after our legs had gone, with some comical defending, especially towards the end

Crawley at home next week and our reaction, will be an indication of how the rest of our season will go.

People are getting excited about going in the Rink End but I don't know why.
When it was terrace, it was brilliant, but was ruined by putting seating in it.

Number 7 Nicky Adams - you sure you mean him? We have multiple players who’d struggle to get into some semi-pro teams, but Adams isn’t one of them.

Number 17 Jack Stobbs is perhaps who you mean. Another who I feel sorry for. It’s not his fault he’s playing at this level but he’s so far off it it’s embarrassing.

That was him who put it about two foot wide at the end after Bahamboula had us in knots and put it on a plate for him, dreadful miss, our lass would've tucked it away.

I saw that watching live and it amused me at the time, seems to have gone semi-viral.(not sure that's possible but hey ho)

Think we played Northampton at the right time. You caused our rickety defence lots of problems with crosses into the box but us scoring straight after Guthrie's goal was crucial and I think knocked the stuffing out of you. McKirdy for sure had huge elements of luck for his goals but his finishing for once was on point. Simpson's goal was the best, he's strong as an Ox and defenders just bounce off him. He should have had a second but hit the post when it looked easier to score.

Your defence was treading water at the end, I'm fully aware that we weren't playing you when you were at your best so not going to go overboard but very happy to take the win in an important 6 pointer.
