Took a while to digest that result. You could argue Barnsley didn't deserve it and it was a bit of even-ing up our recent good luck but they took the two chances they had well and defended manfully on the second half in horrendous conditions when we threw everything at them so deserve the credit. Hitting the bar, Kilip with at least four excellent saves, clearance off the line- an exciting game for the neutral excruciating for both sets of fans.

Sometimes you have to just accept those results. I don't think we've ever won at Barnsley in 17 attempts.

Have to agree. This isn't exactly a cutting edge opinion, but the 2nd auto spot looks to be between ourselves, Wycombe and Huddersfield with Stockport as dark horses if they can replace Barry's goals. January will be a big month for all clubs, as one top signing could be enough.

I'd imagine Reading fall away a little given their money issues, though they've surprised me so far and could still be good for a playoff spot, and Barnsley looked crap yesterday despite their win. They won't touch the top 2. Everyone else is too far behind to catch the top teams barring an outstanding winning run of 10 in a row or something daft.
We’d need to have a hell of a January transfer window to be in the auto mix. I’d suggest we’re more likely to finish in the bottom half than second.

We should have come out of Huddersfield, Rotherham and Birmingham with at least seven points and instead we took two.

We don’t turn our dominance into enough chances and when we do we don’t turn our chances into enough goals.

I agree we won't finish in the automatics, I don't think we'll be in the play-offs either but those games you mention are a tough run of games, if anything the way we played against Huddersfield and Birmingham was more ammo for those who think we'll do well.

The last line is very fair though and why I don't think we'll finish in the play-offs, particularly as you'd imagine some of the big budget teams below us may strengthen heavily this month.

I’d imagine Reading will be in administration (again) before the end of the season.
