We’ve re-signed Patterson on loan and he’ll be first choice ‘keeper now, just a better player than Slocombe. Roberts on the bench is a surprise, Francis and Mitchell slightly leftfield picks to start so could be the case that he’s had it (again) and not fully ready yet, and obviously the player we’ll be most cautious with if not fully fit with his history.

Looks like we've played mind games and Davies starts. Same team as the one that played at Alty.

IB said Roberts been ill all week and only trained yesterday. By my reckoning we’ve 6/7 missing that would have been in the matchday squad, on top of Rodrigues ban. But first XI is still decent enough. No real defensive cover on bench but we can alter the system if someone is injured and still play a decent back 4.

Wrexham pulled a proper fast one with Davies though! Sneaky Parky!

I’m not sure how much attention we pay to the opposition to be honest, not sure I’ve seen a Burchnall team make much attempt at neutralising an opposition player so doubt it’ll make that much difference to our plans with Davies starting.

I can't help feeling we have taken a big gamble with Davies.
We probably should have rested him..would have been three weeks then until he might be needed.
Wonder how long it will be until we see a strong County challenge on him?

Wouldn't of played Jordan today, 1 decent knock and it will be out again. Shows how desperate we are in midfield to have to play him

Big game with 3 forwards and a keeper on the bench. Gulp.

At the game at the Racecourse 5 of your players were all booked for fouling him so I think Burchnall is terrified of him

To be fair we have made the unusual decision to play our one defensive midfielder for a rare start today (he’s good on the ball and terrible at defending, but still), so maybe there’s something in it.

Please can everyone, regardless of the result, give us some #respect for playing this game. Just incredible from the great man Ian to restore some integrity to the Vanarama after some of the shenanigans *other clubs* have been pulling.

In some ways, even if we lose, we still win. Class from Notts *clapping emoji*

I trust our medical team tbh. The way we've treated others (Lennon, Hyde etc) with injury doubts makes me think we are generally more cautious with players with injury question marks. He's a big player for us but I can't see us taking risks unnecessarily.

Burchnall is the anti-James Rowe. Almost TOO honourable.

If there’s one team you want to play a half-fit player against safe in the knowledge they won’t get cynically targeted, it’s us. Just a team of lovely boys.

Apart from angry Dion, they’re lucky he’s been Covided out of contention.

Stockport County.
Dislocated shoulder is a strange injury. Painful as fuck but if it's dealt with quickly and popped back in cleanly, you can have decent mobility with minimal discomfort in a short space of time.

Palmer does put it about a bit to be fair, despite his small stature. If Davies is leaving the pitch in tears after 20 minutes I wouldn’t be terribly surprised.

Is Tozer’s Long Throw still a ‘Thing’ btw? And if so, has Wrexham scored many from it this season?

I think we've scored 5 from it? it suddenly clicked after a month or so, but people are getting wise to it again now. Often a bit too lofted, so a competent keeper can deal with it fairly effectively.

I'm waiting for big Kwame Thomas to get into the team and benefit from it. Maybe today?

Yes we still use it a few times each match we have scored 4 or 5 from them.

Long throws, much like corners, are an embarrassing way to score. Far too brutish, uncouth and thug-like.

As famous fans go, you have to say Leicester’s reserve goalkeeper is definitely not up there.

He'd probably prefer to be called Welsh International keeper. Although I'm sure warming Leicesters bench is a lucrative job.

Wrexham 1-0 up already, Burchnall instantly regretting his admirable ways in trying to get this game on at all costs!!!
