Not really sure why Eastleigh are shorter than us, but going to drop a ton on us at 12s.

We're not going to win the league so 40/1 might as well be 4000/1, but I'm not sure we're quite relegation fodder.

We're 3rd favourites to win L2.

We all know that our little cousins over at Macc follow us wherever we go, so them it is!

It's 99.99% certain not to happen, but we followed you up the following year as champs last time you won the conference (well, alliance prem)

Probably fax 33/1
Chorley 66/1
Chelmsford 66/1
Ebbsfleet 16/1
Tranmere 9/2
Fgr 6/1

That would be my guestimation for the 3 unlucky teams on here

Fuck me, we're still owned by an utter loon, managed to field an impressive three senior pros against Blackpool and have been on a crazy downward trajectory. Have us as second favourites by all means if Becchetti fucks off this week and half our senior pros commit all of a sudden, but until then we're more likely to do a York than a Bristol Rovers. Mental having odds this early.

As daft as it sounds, it's stupid little trends like this that make me see us as good value and want to back us!

I get that we’re completely unfancied and all that, but even Woking are much shorter than us. Hill-less Woking.

That club continually takes the piss out of us.

Chester have been a massive disappointment in the National League. Having waltzed their way back in 3 seasons and built up a good head of support, they were technically relegated in season 1, and have got worse year by year. It all makes me think that what we have in Chester is a demonstration of the limitations of fan owned clubs. Their vastly superior support allowed them to massively outspend all rivals in the lower divisions but in the Premier, they've met their match, fan wise, and the money thrown into the Tin Potters who make it into this division cancels out what they lack in gate receipts. Darlington and FC United have also found they can make good progress as long as they can throw their money into the playing staff, but once they have to start investing in a stadium, there's not a lot of money left over for the team. An Exeter fan I spoke to confirmed that having made it to League 2, they were now treading water at the limits of their financial threshold. I hear stories from FC United and Chester too, that boardroom factions are also an issue. And then there's Wrexham........All of this is pertinent to us at Halifax because the fan owned model was briefly an option for us in 2008, until it was clear the majority were willing to back the new owners. I honestly think if we'd taken the fan owned option we'd be about where Scarborough (anyone remember them?) are now. :bdick:

They obviously haven't done their homework on Pools.
Yes we'll be one of the best supported clubs in the league, but the clubs in a mess.
Chairman whose totally bolloxed us up resigning before one of the biggest games in our history, new owner who doesn't really want be here.
No manager,a section of fans boycotting season tickets.
It's a clusterfook.

A mighty antepost considering we're not even 100% certain to be in the division. Have they released relegation odds yet? I made about a grand backing against us last season.

To be honest we’re probably at the basement level of support that can survive at this level on our model, 2,000 average. It'll only get tougher though. I suppose people can take the mick all they want but the reality is not many clubs at this level are strong enough to do what the likes of us and Wrexham do in relying pretty much just on our support. We’re different, most clubs can spend some money to try and get fans in, whereas we need to get fans in to make the money.

The club are hoping to make a fair bit on Hughes this summer, who is Premier League/Championship bound. Maybe in the future given his potential we’ll make even more. Continuing to bring lads like him through the youth setup is pretty critical for us.

Given all the noises, Mr Travis has to be coming in before the 12th, surely? #subtlyhijackedthread

I'm with you on this one, we've far too many questions that need answering before even being considered favourites, a new manager is not expected until the end of next week, the retained list is nowhere to be seen and is being handled by a head of recruitment who just seemed to turn up at the club one day, our leech ex chairman (majority shareholder) is in hiding down South somewhere rubbing his greedy mitts together waiting for his golden handshake and we seemingly have debts up to our eyeballs, despite not spending a penny on the playing staff.

Still, at least we'll have a nice new badge

Don't know why Hartlepool are 7/1. Be very surprised if they even come close.

Assume whoever loses the p/o final will be favourites.

It's way too early and not an incredibly popular market so it's kind of easy to stick the two relegated ex league clubs as fav's, we're both getting 100% of the Football League parachute payments and both are historical league teams makes sense to make both early favourites, see what the odds look like in a month's time when the dust has settled and money has been placed.
