Their Chairman didn't even pay them on time in the NL so that's not really relevant.Macc are a strong non league club and should stay there even if John Askey and Sol Cambell are good enough to keep them in league 2 somehow.
There doesn`t seem enough support for league football,
If there was enough support he could pay them but there isn`t.Their Chairman didn't even pay them on time in the NL so that's not really relevant.
Lecturing from a Vale fan about sustainability. Brilliant.
The support would be better if the fucknut of an owner would piss off. Even then maybe not enough to sustain long term league football, but would at least put someone in charge you could run the club properly and just live within our means whatever level that means playing at.If there was enough support he could pay them but there isn`t.

It isn`t enough is it, I`m not knocking the club or its supporters but you can`t sustain a lower league club on those numbers. We used to average 2500 ish in the early to mid 2000s, which is incidentally where you have to go back to in order to find the last time we weren’t run awfully.
This isn’t a year or two of off the field mis-management, it’s over a decade.
Considering we are a small club, I am honestly surprised that we still seem to have a hardcore of 1500 home fans who still bother going.

I suppose that is why you all blame the owner if you believe that. At the end of their football league time, their gates were almost down to your heyday levels.Crowds mean nowt really. Look at wrexham.
Getting big crowds isn't the be all and end all when you have teams with multi-millionaire owners blowing everyone out of the water. But you do need one or the other. We have neither of those and it's clear to see that we can't afford to maintain a 24 man L2 squad, at least not without missing wage payments and maintaining the ground properly. Trouble is, even if we were relegated I don't see anything changing under the current regime.I suppose that is why you all blame the owner if you believe that. There will be more than 1000 "home" fans at their game this Saturday. It’s difficult but Morecambe do it often on barely 1000 home fans.
I still don't know what you're owner is involved for because he isn't a Macclesfield fan(?), rarely attends games, doesn't put massive amount of money in (I'm assuming he covers the odd thing here and there), doesn't appear overly doesn't appear an egoistical bloke and doesn't seem to be a dodgy asset stripper either.Getting big crowds isn't the be all and end all when you have teams with multi-millionaire owners blowing everyone out of the water. The owner is morally misguided at times (read some of his club statements and you'll get the idea), deliberately elusive when questioned by fans, and invests as little time and effort into running the club as possible. A change of ownership is certainly what's needed, similar to what Vale themselves went through over the summer. I'm not calling for a wealthy backer to come in and bankroll us, just someone with the club's interests at heart who will pay more attention to the operational side of the club, including staying within budget, no matter how small that budget is.
