Problem is the only person who went to the hearing was...Amar. The only person who will represent us in an appeal is...Amar.

Macc surely have grounds for an appeal on that basis too then, what a mockery of a sham.
Suspect they'll have to wait until the Bolton appeal first, although I think the EFL have applied the points deduction to Macc to strengthen their hand in the appeal process.

Seems to me that the EFL have not been consistent in how they have treated Bury, Bolton and Macclesfield. And of those it appears Macclesfield have been treated the most severely, despite their situation being closer to Bolton’s than Bury’s.

The EFL appointed an independent commission to deal with Bury and Macclesfield it is them who haven't been consistent which is why the EFL are appealing the Bolton punishment.

The EFL are crap but you can't blame them on treating Bolton and Macc differently other than not dealing with it themselves and using an independent commission instead

There is one slight difference with Macc and Bolton which may have made the difference in that Bolton didn’t sign players this season and then not pay them they had to use their kids so in that respect Macclesfield may have been seen to buy what they couldn’t pay for...

It's such a strange position to be in. Personally I'm not going back until he's gone where as others wont to show their support to the players and staff by turning up to back them - though knowing full well any money they put into the club wont end up going to the people they want to support.

We are also doing our bit by donating £10 to Macclesfield for every goal we score until the end of the season, so that should be £20 - £30 winging its way to Moss Rose in May.

We are appealing our 6-point deduction (due to the EFL failing in its appeal re:Bolton).

How does that work with you then doing a second indiscretion though?
Who cares as long as it makes the useless EFL look like the incompetent pricks they are
Hope you survive Macc Lads

I have no idea who is looking after this appeal, not who is paying. And it's completely pointless as the EFL were much more careful when they framed our punishment to be more around financial irregularities so not a chance any points will be rescinded. All that may happen is we get lucky and they don't yet add the suspended 4 point deduction on yet.

Oh we also haven't seen anything official from the club saying McMahan has left, and who is actually in charge. Nor any update on the takeover.

Our argument will be that Bolton surely also had financial irregularities (and called off more games as well) and weren't punished anywhere near as severely as we were. Clearly we deserve to be punished but compared to the size of the deduction Bolton got, I would say we are justified in appealing.

I can't help but feel that we were punished more severely in order to help the FL's case appealing the Bolton decision. Basically using one of the smaller clubs as some sort of bargaining chip to try and cover their own backs. The fact that they're only now discussing a fixed system of penalties for financial problems and missed fixtures is ludicrous. They had plenty of warnings that situations like this would arise and they did nothing to prepare.

For this season anyway, and I can't remember the exact games called off, if any, bar Doncaster, I think part of Bolton's argument was that they would have contravening one of the EFL's own rules had it gone ahead (linked to the number of games/minutes U18's can play).

Certainly worth an appeal anyway. No surprise the decision was upheld. I think I read one of the people on the independent committee is a Bolton supporter?!

Told in the L1 bit that it's actually a PL regulation not an EFL one, so who knows!

Been back in court this morning. Adjourned again until 25th March, due to an agreement being put in place for a sale of shares in the club to another party who have provided proof of funds. Shares sale yet to be completed at this point.

No idea who, apparently 3 parties interested, but we can only hope this is a small movement to a positive resolution. Of course we could be out of the frying pan into the fire, but at the moment it just feels like more and more water is being thrown on a full wok of flaming oil. Get me in those cleaner flames on the kitchen floor asap!!

Reported that three of our players have gone to the EFL to get their contracts terminated, and have succeeded.

Our lot reckon Harris is one and he's coming back to us.
Wouldn't be surprised, and wouldn't blame him. He's been around the block long enough to not let himself get fucked about like he has been, and knows he probably got one more half decent contract left in him.

It really could be any of them though.

Harris not one of the three, but did leave for Wrexham on Friday.

Welch-Hayes, Osadebe and Vassell are the ones who had their contracts cancelled.
