Fairly comfortable win in the end, once we broke our goal drought. Not dissimilar to the previous home game apart from us taking two of the numerous chances. Don't think it's true to say Carlisle didn't have chances, they just weren't clinical, unlike Plymouth who basically had two chances and scored with both of them. Carlisle could still make the play-offs, they just need to break their own drought and it may change everything for them. They should trust in Curle who is a good manager IMO.

Seen many poorer sides visit FM this season than Carlisle!

You may see them on the highlights. There were a couple of chances in both halves.
From BBC website:
"Shaun Miller and Jamie Proctor both went close for Carlisle...."

Proctor controlled a ball quite far out (well it looked far out from the other end) and volleyed it over but I wouldn't call it a chance. By chances I mean create an opening for a good chance to score. We didn't create a single one of note in my recollection.

Honestly can't remember Shaun Miller's. But speaking of him, I really don't know where the free scoring forward that we thought we were signing from morecambe is. His record last season was excellent but he doesn't look capable any more.

HG you keep saying we're shit and hopeless etc which is true, but I never see you come up with any solutions, so what do you think should be done is to fix this?

New Manager?
New ownership?

Sign Lionel Messi in the summer.

New ownership would be ideal but can't see them lot letting go of it to be honest.

Not a new manager. Curle has worked wonders turning us from bottom of the league to where we are now. He has a really poor group of players to work with and he worked miracles to get them top 3 half way through the season.

So do you not think it's time to stop slating the players and start slating the owners instead then?

Of course the owners deserve stick, but as these threads are about football, particularly match threads, I'm talking about what I'm seeing on the pitch which at the moment is utterly shite.

2-0 was a fair result. The Stags created the better chances and deserved the win.

I like how willing Hayden White is to run at the opposing full backs. I reckon he will go far.

Byrom seems to read the game well and make lots of good interceptions.

Coulthirst scored a great goal but otherwise made some bizarre decisions such as stopping his run before the flag was raised and playing a terrible ball to Rose when he was in a 2v1.

Carlisle passed it around nicely but didn't create anything of note. Their centre backs looked very vulnerable to pace.

We did not pass it around nicely at all. We were fucking shocking, could hardly pick out a red shirt, ended up resorting to pathetic punts forward into the channels which only Mansfield players picked up.

Hayden White is good yeah, I liked him when he played for Carlisle. Fast, athletic and powerful. He'll make a good league 1/championship wing back eventually.

I was finding it frustrating that you were able to halt our moments of pressure by passing the ball along the backline for what felt like ages, but perhaps you're right because I didn't feel under threat.
