36 Macclesfield at Aldershot - in my opinion that is a dreadful following for a Saturday for a team like Macclesfield.

It's poor but as someone said 7 came through wrong turnstile because they went through the bar and there was another group of Macc fans we met on our way out who had just spent the game in the home end stood up so the figure was probably nearer 50. If you had seen our away form for the past 5 years, you would be surprised 50 had even bothered.

Edit - I was there though and our fans certainly made themselves heard.

Last Tuesday's performance/result probably halved the amount that may have traveled.

But yes, noise-wise was excellent.

Since our away support is being slated, I looked back at the figures written for us and I thought I'd at least correct a wrong one. It wasn't 56 at Grimsby, it was 90.

Someone mentioned that at the time but I could only find 56 on official sites/twitter

I saw a photo of our away support somewhere and it would show you it was far nearer 100 than 56 but I can't remember where I saw it.

Edit - I think it might be incorrectly quoted because the supporters coach was late.

Also Cardsfan, is there somewhere I can see the averages so far out of interest?

I put them up every few months or so but I can put up the latest ones at some point today if you'd like?

Whenever you get the time, I'm always interested in statistics.

I had a look back at our away record in the league over the last several years and since October 23rd 2011 our away record is as follows:
Played - 92
Won - 23
Drawn - 18
Lost - 51

We have failed to win 75% of away games, losing 55% in the process!!!

Oh dear - that makes our home record against you even more terrible, I think we've only beaten you once at home and lost 4 of the last 5.

Yeah ours is similarly terrible since we've been in this league:

We've played 52

Won: 12
Drawn: 13
Lost: 27

Somehow our away followings have held up quite well in spite of all of it.

Chester FC have also got a pretty poor record

Played 53
Won: 17
Drawn:7
Lost: 29

Ours and Maccs is extra odd as we've had a play off appearance and they've had a 6th place.

Chester have either been average or shite full stop

That include cup games?

Our away record is as average as you will find, past two seasons since we've been back in this league and put the league table with away results only and we'd have finshed 12th and 10th, and that first year involved us overall finishing in the relegation places.

It's true. Our core away support was always 300 or so, which swelled as we got closer to home. I don't remember us ever travelling well, except for 'special' or local games.
Largely agree with this. There's an element of football tourism with our travelling support. Bury was our closest fixture last season, but more Rovers fans went to games at Accrington and Morecambe, less familiar grounds.

You are correct, that includes last season of course where our away form wasn't as bad as usual, without being good. It is interesting that you seem to have fared similarly. It must partly be the mindset of the players as I can't really understand how the travelling could create such a contrast between home and away form?

I think our away form has been decent. I think one of our two completed seasons our away form was better than our home form. Now our home form ................... utter shite!

Walsall Wood away last night, attendance was reported as 400 (300 bulls) but certainly looked a few more than that and the queue right up to kick off was pretty long.
6-0 win as well and another hatrick for John mills, 19 in 12 for the season.

Scrap the above, ive seen a couple of estimates suggesting it was around 175 so I may have been a little low on my estimation. Either way its an incredible effort for our 2nd long distance trip in a week

I thought around 170 odd + when I guestimated there. Was there ever an official figure ?

64 tickets left for Wrexham, go on general sale tomorrow morning. Be a bit of a queue at 10am at the club shop tomorrow I imagine.

Nothing official from Guiseley, but looking at their average attendance and the attendance last night, I suspect 400-450 won't be too far off.

All gone now apparently.

Looking at the home sales it should be a good crowd.

Sportin Hortin reckons we had around a quarter of the gate which was 1279.

Sounds reasonable although there were alot of neutrals/tv chasers there last night too and quite a few away supporters in the home end
