Good following, good result.269 Imps I'm told.
Superb effort from fans; team continue to flatter to deceive - 8 unbeaten now, that has got us precisely nowhere nearer the top. I wonder sometimes if Hurst just picks a team to wind up the fans who post on the Fishy. Bogle and Amond who were scoring for fun, not played together for over a month. Marshall brought on Arnold who scored two in midweek, Monkhouse who has't scored for weeks left on. My other theory is that Hurst thinks he can't be sacked if he draws 3 and wins 1. Perhaps he is bad at maths - 79 points will not win this league - it only just scraped into the play-offs last season...578 Grimsby supporters at Braintree.
The whole attendance for Hednesford v Alfreton today was 569!578 Grimsby supporters at Braintree.
It's a long way and not the easiest to get to from here.I was expecting a bit more than that to be honest. Now our results are picking up it would be nice to see a few of the old fans come out of the woodwork (which includes myself, to some extent).
Didn't say it was, but when things are going well fans tend to make that extra effort. I remember 700/800 making the mammoth journey to Torquay in one of our first away games in Division 3 (in 97? 98?)It's a long way and not the easiest to get to from here.
Yeah be nice if we can 3000 Imps in the ground for the game next week.
32 Woking at Halifax
I did a head count halfway through the first half, counted 109 was told there were a few in the stand , so would accept 120 in attendance.awaiting official numbers but 85-100 Barrow at Bromley today
138 Cheltenham fans went to Gateshead yesterday.
That can't be right. According to Vanni Halifax LIE about away followings at the Shay. If I was you, I'd wait until Vanni watches the highlights and then REVEALS that there were ACTUALLY 14 Woking fans there.

I'll ask around. Impressive if 120.I did a head count halfway through the first half, counted 109 was told there were a few in the stand , so would accept 120 in attendance.
Very pleased with it.Your home support was amazing 2445!!! Second best of the weekend, did you have an offer on cos of it being non league day?
Very pleased with it.
We dropped the adult entry price to £10. Also, Charlton & Crystal Palace advertised it as the game to go to for Non League Day.
Along with our recent form and word of mouth, the locals came out for it which was nice.
We do have the catchment / capability of bringing in decent crowds for big matches, and manage c4000 for big cup games, with our recent form (and the 5-0 win) hopefully some will decide to come back on a regular basis.
With the potential (for crowds) I was always surprised to see your crowds on the low side for the most part. They'll only continue to improve though the way things are going.
Any confirmed figure for Wrexham at Dover, cardsfan? It was segregated, but I haven't heard/seen anything. Looked about 100.
A slight understatement that perhaps...90 pissed off Shaymen at Grimsby
Never seem to get official figures from Dover unfortunately, I'll put down 100, cheers for the estimate. With the potential (for crowds) I was always surprised to see your crowds on the low side for the most part. They'll only continue to improve though the way things are going.

Our most succesful era was the old amateur days of the late '40s, and also done well in the early '60s, since then it was a decline and we spent many years down in the doldrums, Ryman South / Isthmian 1S isnt a pretty place to be both on and off the pitch, losing our local support to the local professional teams (& Sky Sports). When we pushed Yeovil for the Isthmian title to get into the then 'National League' in 87/88, we were getting crowds up to 1000, then like our form it dropped away for nearly 20 years.
The club, as you know, have been on an upward spiral on and off the pitch since 2004/05 and with success, it brings back old fans and engages new ones. Many of the 'new' fans i speak with were hooked after their first visit for a Play-Off final or FAC 1st Round game, and luckily for us we've had a few of these in the past 10 years. Throughout last season we were regularly hitting 1000-1500, double that when the title was in our grasp.
Definately a feel good factor at Hayes Lane, and plenty of fans claiming to have been going since the 60s/70s, not that i remember them, but it's nice to see the old place busy. Expect the crowds to drop off with the colder weather though handily we have some big fixtures in the winter months with Grimsby/Tranmere (both who'll bring decent support) and the Altrincham game that is live, which is also on an International weekend, so will be busier than normal.
