I seen on facebook 19 Southport fans at Dover and fair play to every single one of them.

Didn't know where to put this but this chart shows our attendance growth matched with Cheltenhams

That's hardly a surprising or fair comparison given Cheltenham's fall from L1 and your improved results.

A fairer, and even at that point not a particularly fair one, would be home attendance i.e. Cheltenham would have had far more away fans a few years back.

I am honestly not taking the piss here, but I have no idea what your point is in showing that graph?

People keep saying it will be impossible for us to grow and this proves them wrong...

All it shows is that despite us being absolutely shite for the last 3 years we are still getting more fans than you.

And so it will continue Ad Infinitum.

Football is loved in Gloucestershire. Just so long as it's on the telly and doesn't require going out in the cold.

When you put it like that it sounds quite sensible really. Maybe we are the mad ones?

Rugby takes precedent in Gloucestershire, which is shame really. Could have a couple of decent sized clubs

Dover's owner is threatening to walk away if crowds dont improve http://www.kentonline.co.uk/dover/sport/dover-chief-vows-to-walk-91895/

Can understand why hes pissed off, but making his point like this really isnt gonna help
People dont take kindly to threats & from reading their forum a lot of the fanbase dont like him or his son....if anything its gonna cause more people to stop going

Probably. If people are that fickle that they stop going to watch one club and go to another because they suddenly have a bit of money then, frankly, they're welcome to them.

When we got relegated I was told to expect piss poor away followings from the majority of clubs but to be honest it's been really good. Vocally the support for most teams visiting prenton park has been excellent apart from jester who made a bit of a racket when the teams come out but then seemed to nod off for the rest of the afternoon. Maybe we are a bit of a novelty first time round and if we stay down here for a while that will probably wear off.

You're lucky as there's quite a few North West based clubs in the league (Chester, Wrexham, Barrow, Southport, Macclesfield, Altrincham, Halifax off the top of my head) so they'll always bring a half decent following to Birkenhead. The away followings at Blundell Park over the last few seasons have been terrible - we regularly only get about 50-100 supporters (if that) coming up to Blundell Park for each game. I think it's partially due to how geographically isolated we are in relation to other clubs in the league, but also a reflection on how poorly a lot of them travel (78 from Cheltenham, 37 from Forest Green on a Saturday afternoon. We'll probably take 400+ to their ground tonight for a Friday evening televised match).

Somehow the 144 travelling supporters from Tranmere on a Friday night were the second highest away attendence at BP so far this season!

your away support is excellent is that a one off this season or do you always travel like that. Expect a big turn out for the last game of the season just a pity it won't be a title decided as I reckon it would be a league record attendance

Always been good since I started going to away games in the late 70s - relatively I'm talking - relative to home support. I'm convinced that its partly due to the North Lincs diaspora... also a few other a clubs that are quite remote geographically have good travelling support - Carlisle, Plymouth and Blackpool all travel well.
Not to be overlooked is that at this level and with the current price of fuel, going to an away game is a relatively cheap family day out.

Bit like your lot Sunday, just without the racket when the teams came out!

knew someone would bite :fish:

No biting from me. Was genuinely surprised at how quiet you were considering its a derby and you won, you and Bristol Rovers must have the worst repertoire of chants in football.
