You always overplay the visiting away fans and underplay us on the road. I’d have gone with around 150 though. Not sure why we don’t give precise figures.

 I agreed on the Kings Lynn away figure at least.

Being in this league, we’ve clearly exaggerated away followings in leagues below but still way above those league averages.

Agreed on the lack of accurate figures, it’s nothing that enhances the match day experience but just a sign of professionalism I hope we can announce regularly, if we’re in this league next season.

Grimsby fans last Saturday. Bloody kids eh?

I mean obviously it’s still not great behaviour, but do you reckon the guy writing that expected his big exposé on Notts County vs Grimsby Town to be that… some kids made a bit of a mess on the train.

Yeah Gary Lineker tweeted that article with something about hooliganism going back to 70s and 80s levels which isn’t really borne out by the video.

He was probably thinking about the Leicester fan trying to twat the Forest players, but there doesn’t seem to have been any proper trouble even at that game.

Lineker has turned into a massive snowflake, how did he play against the old Wimbledon I will never know. There were 800 football related arrest in 2021 that’s out of attendances of over 30m, not a bad ratio as you’ll always get the odd plonker in society. Football fans always get the short straw, have a fight at the football expect your door caved in at 5am on a Tuesday morning by 10 officers in riot gear, yet have a fight anywhere else in society they’ll politely ask you to go to the police station by phone. News headline Tossers.

I don't usually bore you lot with my posts from The Fishy but essentially what I've said on there which was...

Shocking discovery by The Times that football fans take cocaine and don't clear up their cans on the train. There's gonna be some poor behaviour when 2500 fans go anywhere and obviously anyone getting racial abuse is completely abhorrent, not defending that. However, they can get to fuck peddling this notion that there was a substantial air of hooliganism about last Saturday. Lumping us in with Leicester fans throwing chairs around. There wasn't a jot of friction between us and the County fans, stewards or police around the ground or in town from what I saw*. I've personally not seen any trouble at any Town matches all season. Lazy, sensationalist journalism that will do more damage than good. The writer obviously had a narrative set out for this article before creating it, why else would they have attended police debriefings?

*Actually, that's not true I remember someone getting ridiculously irate at the stewards because he couldn't go up a stairwell at half time. I don't mean to sound like I'm brushing anything under the carpet either. Just more that Saturday was in no way deserving of this kind of exposé in a national newspaper.

Yup, agreed, there was no real hint of trouble at or around the game on Saturday at all. There’s been bits this season I’ve seen, particularly our game with Wrexham the other week when it was kicking off all over the place afterwards, but I wouldn’t say it’s noticeably any worse tbh.

Both Notts/Grimsby games have felt edgy because they were policed like military operations as opposed to anything that actually happened. Imagine our double header coming up with Chesterfield will be the same.

We seem to have issues everywhere at the moment. A new, younger hooligan element has risen from the ashes of the older one from the early 2000s, a number of whom are the kids of former hooligans.

You also have the sad f*cks in their 40s who join them. They only ever used to show up when Chester, Stockport or Tranmere were in town but now they appear to be a mainstay.

I heard they got a bit of a kicking at Notts. Was going off all over the place after, saw some idiot knock out a guy in his 60s outside the station. Was actually weirdly underpoliced that game compared to Grimsby.

Actually went for a beer with a Wxm fan I know from work beforehand and we saw like 50 of your fans getting escorted away from the ground (!?!) at about midday. All looked about 15 but had full balaclavas on, completely clad in black. Seemed to think they were AEK Athens or something.

Just had this sent to me, well done Grimsby for making the National press.

Is the away support still put on the open terrace? That is usually under the main camera
We've been given all of the Chris Lane Terrace and a section of the Seymours Community Stand. 1,150 tickets in all. Not sure how that is orientated in respect of the TV Cameras. No instruments allowed in the ground, so looks like we will be drumless!!

Grimsby fans - do you know if away supporters can pay on the day? Your visitors guide says that online tickets are collection only (rather than e-ticket) so wondering if its just easier to pay when I arrive tomorrow

I’m not sure to be honest mate but if you ring the ticket office - number is 01472 605050 - they will be able to tell you.

That's the same allocation as we got - the tereace is down the side of the pitch and is uncovered. Don't bring umbrellas as they'll take them off you.

The seats will be in the corner behind the goal

Turns out I misread the article and it meant they can't print your own tickets for you.

Got mine on an e-ticket so all good now. Not seen us win at your place before and I imagine that run continues tomorrow

764 Stones at the last count of tickets sold, should be over 800 by kick off.

It’s whether all those are used up but anecdotally I’ve heard of others walking up so could end up being 800+ tomorrow.

What I like this season is that supporters who have hosted us already, I don’t think one of them can accuse us of a lack of noise. Plus as a percentage of our home crowd we’re more than holding our own in this league.

You keep underselling yourself, with walk-ons at both ends I think it will hit over 2,000.

We’ve had someone with an anonymous profile join the supporters group on Facebook in the past week asking repeatedly which pubs everyone is going to pre match. I hope he’s genuine, otherwise it’s far too obvious a giveaway from the Met Police. Not that it should be an issue and I’d be happy to say where we’re drinking beforehand, but I’ll be fuming if any moron kicks off tomorrow.

Don’t think you realise the state the club is in.

It’s a big game for you. I’ve only missed two away games all season but only been to the Hive twice (and one of them was a free ticket). Just can’t stand it at the moment. People have cancelled memberships over the last couple weeks. Clubs in disarray and ultimately we do not see tomorrow’s game as half as exciting as you do.

Might scrap 1000 but the ground will look as empty as it always does.

You have had a big surge on sakes from yesterday. You will have 60% of the crowd at least.
