Big game down at the bottom.

First time we've played Bolton since our 3-0 play-off final defeat in 2001, 6pm kick off because it's on Sky which will shave a few off the attendance no doubt. It also means a full day of drinking which will obviously end in a few shenanigans around the town centre. This was supposedly a 'tasty' fixture in the 80's and 90's.

As for the game, i'll be annoyed if we don't win this one, still looking for the first home win of the season and this lot are rooted to the bottom of the table so I hope we throw the kitchen sink at them.

Hoping Garner is back in the starting line-up as the other strikers have failed to make a claim for themselves in his absence, except for Hugill maybe who has done well without scoring.

We've kept three clean sheets in a row but if Huntington is available then he slots back into the team for me, Woods has done great but he's still a right back playing out of position.

Pickford
Woods, Huntington, Wright, Cunningham
Gallagher, Browne, Johnson, Reach
Hugill, Garner

Kirkland, Vermijl, Kilkenny, Welsh, Doyle, Keane, May

Very surprised they've allowed this one to be a late kick off. Bolton have always been a lively bunch, they were when City played them at their place a few seasons back. But especially a for Lancastrian Derby too!

All day drinking between both set of fans, could get ugly.

Actually buzzing for Saturday. Been a long time since I was so excited for a league match at Deepdale.

Out at 12, Rugby World Cup Final at 4 and then on to Deepdale where hopefully I will still be sober enough to get into the ground.

Hopefully we batter the shit c*** as revenge for 2001 but I can see Ameobi and Heskey scoring as it would be so very Preston.

We're brilliant at ending a team's shit run of form.

Neil Lennon is another incentive to win too, can't stand that ginger c***.

Comfortable PNE victory here, with another clean sheet. Is this on Sky then? Was too surprised it was a late kick-off.

Not sure about that, we're a nervous team at home with nothing to suggest we'll stroll this.

Boro 0-0
Ipswich - 1-2
Derby - 1-2
Bristol City - 1-1
Wolves - 1-1
Cardiff - 0-0

Was a tasty derby in the 80's and 90's, but that is a tale of stories told over a few drinks on a non match day, however, this will be a draw, 6pm kick will reduce the away following to about 3000, but they are talking about pay on the day so a few more will turn up like the old days...looking for to the first match in 14 years

A shame Sir Beckford is out for this one.

Any timeframe whatsoever for when he's back?

I disappeared from this forum c. 4 years ago, when I think I was one of only two Bolton fans on it. Shame nobody ever posts about us really but I'm getting back into it now.

I must say the overwhelming feeling going into this game is fear. Whilst we've gotten progressively shitter each year since relegation, this is the first time we've been adrift at the bottom and without any real cause for optimism. To have a relegation six pointer away at a bitter rival who we haven't played for 15 years, whilst having a raft of injuries and suspensions to deal with... I think I'll curl up in a ball for 2 hours at 6pm and pretend it isn't happening.

So yeah, 2-0 to the Wanderers. COYWM

I'm convinced we'll lose tonight. it would just be so typical of us to lose to bottom of the league after 4pts away from home.

I'm going to get it in early...

Fuck off Preston, you useless fucking c***.

That was a truly dreadful game of football. No idea how the lad stayed on the pitch after taking Clayton out when last man. We got a penalty against us and down to ten men for less last week.

But I'll give up whingeing about that. Still rubbish for 94 minutes and need to be better to drag ourselves out of the mire

Absolute dog spunk. Our strikers are fucking useless.

Garner's a proper greedy twat as well. If he receives the ball to feet anywhere around the box; it's head down, zero interest in playing a team mate in, and scuff a speculative pea-roller towards goal. Every fucking time. He's just so wasteful with the ball at his feet in the final third.

I know he's desperate for a goal, and we're supposed to tickle his ball-bag at every opportunity, but he's really starting to piss me off.

Vermijl is shocking, too. Can't pass or cross, shanks the ball out of play far too often, and has the strength and build of a 14yr old school kid. He can run a lot, though.

I'm a bit fucked off this morning. I've been looking forward to that day/game for weeks, and it turns out like that.

Talking to a few Bolton lads after the game and we were all in hysterics at how shite both teams were.
