Northwich Victoria FC former owner Jim Rushe will go on trial next week accused of drugs related offence.

Full article on The Northwich Guardian Sport Website

I wouldn't post anything that could be libel as he's innocent until proven guilty.

When did he become former.

So far as I know he's still there.

He was made bankrupt a while ago and handed over control.
I've seen him at home matches and been told he's a volunteer now.
We've also been thrown out of Wincham Park and we don't know where we're playing next season.
Personally I've had enough of it all now, Im going to start watching local rugby.

Would you consider 1874 Northwich? Always found the split interesting there, that some moved on and others didn't.

He's had a lot of decent players there this season, hence their cup run, but doubt they were getting paid.

Probably no need for them (or Northwich Flixton Villa) to exist any more. Everybody should get behind the real Northwich Vics club 1874.

Stopped following Vics when we lost the Stadium, started watching beginning of this season when we returned to Northwich. Waiting to see where we play next season before making up my mind but I'm Vics til I die and can't support the disgruntled pretenders.

Northwich Flixton Villa has relocated to Manchester I believe so has no real ties to the town any more.

Been told they're changing their name next season to Manchester Diamonds FC

Despite the fact that he took you to 3 relegations and lost you your excellent ground.
Still was a nice bloke and wasnt really his fault, have to stick by the club through thick and thin, good times and bad.

I thought you were going to the rugby.
Depends where we end up playing, looks like it'll be out of Northwich in which case I'll still watch. If it's out of Cheshire then I'll be going to watch local rugby.
Did hear from a mate that terrace talk suggested Barnton but don't think that's up to our standard, not as good as Wittons ground. Would be OK if we ended up at Chester, their facilties are adequate for our fans and players.

Reading the NLP it looks like Vics will get their 9 points back, good news at least.

When Vics were in the top level of Non League football, they were getting 1000+ crowds (2,500 when we played there) at the Drill Field. Rushe reduced them to being a Step 4 team with crowds of under 100 playing at Flixton. I would imagine the team that play at Winsford and get crowds of 300 would consider themselves in the same way as AFC Wimbledon consider themselves as the real Wimbledon team. Not sure why you would throw your weight around a crook.

Witton still exist,don't they?
Perhaps they're the team for everyone in Northwich to get behind now.The town was clearly too small to house two decent level non-league clubs (unbelievably both were in the Conf at one point),so perhaps it was inevitable that ultimately only one would survive...in the same way that happened in other towns a hundred years or so ago.

Just got home from work to be told Witton are taking Vics back next season. Might be a rumour so I'm not getting my hopes up yet but if it's true that's amazing news. :sb:
