Agreed, hopefully overall the crowd will push 10,000.

Police refusing to let you pay on the day is pathetic.

Nottinghamshire police seem to have it in for us, I read a article doing the rounds about how our police bill was five times the size of Notts County last season partly due to the fact we have a 'recognised hooligan group' and you don't. I can imagine we get quite a bit more trouble than County but I think they are slightly going over the top with how much trouble our lot in the Sergio Tacchini garms cause.

Also that we are only paying half the bill too, which is amusing

Having lived in Manchester for 13 years and having 2 good mates who are coppers, going back to notts with our cops is like going back to the stone ages - they cause more trouble than their worth

I'm always offended by the lack of a police presence at Notts games. Feel like we need to cause a bit of aggro just to prove we can, no-one wants to be the speccy dweebs of the county.

Police have too much of a say over some things. Hate to think how much money they've lost County due to not letting us pay on the night. Will only be same at Field Mill, We can now have 100% in but for big followings we give 1500 in the North Stand now. Makes sense

Notts will naturally lose out cos of the decision not to do 'pay on the gate' , seems crazy to me when the away team won't get close filling their full possible allocation. Same applies at Field Mill, pretty sure we could sell out both ends behind the goals, if allowed.

As for the game the makeshift defence made up players playing on the wrong side, possible midfielders in defence, or unproven debutants is a worry. But I hope the strong central midfield three control the game for Notts.

Out of interest, does that deluded old commentator still bang on about county being famous or good in the times of the British empire? Or has he been replaced?

You watch your mouth about that senile old goat Colin Slater. He's just had a tram named after him y'know.

He's shite at his job but no idea what you're talking about because if anything he hates us, I don't know if Notts have slowly eaten away at his soul or something but it's a running joke that he gets more excited when the opposition score. He can't even remember simple names like Lee Hughes either so I question what his recollection of the year 2014 is, let alone 80 years ago.

He actually wrote a book about his time commentating for Notts and got half the scores and goalscorers wrong from key matches.

He is to commentating what Alan Smith is to football. Just call it a fucking days lads.

Smith might play tomorrow night btw, such is the amount of our missing players. If he does, let me congratulate you now on your victory.

Hewitt ish not at full capashity, you musht be 100% not 99%. He hasn't had a preseason basically and is behind. Adams I assume got injured half way through preseason, bit odd that he hasn't been mentioned in a while though.

Doubt either will play so we'll either slot in a youngster like Sharpe or Atkinson or go batshit makeshift and do something weird. My nightmare is Thompson to right-back and Smith into midfield.

Noble guaranteed a win in his TV interview so :dk:

I liked Atkinson at Alfreton, looked #decent on the ball so would be certainly preferable to Smith.

A paraplegic Mark Fotheringham would be preferable to Smith

God knows who's fit and who will actually play. Adams is a mystery, I'm not sure if its just a myth that he's even our player

I think Notts will stick with the total football approach and remain 433. Expect shouts of gerrim off directed at one of our 3 central midfielders in preference of a striker and old direct 442 Notts fans love.

Don't know much about the notts squad other that its depth, something i wish we had more of, but successful teams in this league always use the lowest amount of players so we'll see how it fares having x amount sat in the stands each week.

Id accept defeat because they look the better side at the moment, but not looking forward to the morons on stags net who will want murray sacked by sunday.

Hoping we play 442, the 4-1-4-1 formation didn't allow us to play football, midfield ended up far too crowded, and green up front with no help was hard to watch, he just wasn't being utilised. Its going to take us time to get it right and we may as well faff about now, because the start of the season doesnt matter. We just need that first win to kick start things.

Got a feeling it will be a close game with some good football by the home team and we'll have to be on form at the back, we might sneak it by a single goal. 0-1? Similar game to when we beat chesterfield.

Love that confidence, stick his interview on in our dressing room for motivation.

That's not an actual thing that works you know. You're basically saying your lot won't be motivated enough. Jordan Spieth could say he'd beat me at pitch & putt, I still wouldn't do any better.

Looking forward to this one, clearly the 'big game' of the season and on a Friday night adds a twist. The only negative is, when I know we are playing Mansfield in the league, its a constant reminder that we are shit again.

I Imagine if County are going to have any slim chance of getting promoted they need to improve on last season.

My favourite thing about Notts County on this forum is Bish's hard on for Alan Smith. You just know the c*** will bang the winner in tomorrow, If fit anyway.

Fucking hell, really? I thought we'd easily get promoted by winning 4 games in 5 months.

If the twat even plays a single minute I'll be rallying the troops to stage a Blackpool style pitch protest. No idea how the prick looks himself in the mirror each morning and happily goes to work every day knowing he's not fit for purpose - the time for a dignified exit has long passed, now is the time to just retire out of sheer embarrassment. The useless fuck.

What's the current state of play regarding the rain in Nottingham?

I passed going South on the motorway at 4:30 this morning and it was tipping down cats and dogs. Does Meadow Lane take a sudden cloud burst well, or could there be any chance of a postponement?

It's belting it down in Manchester (even by the standards here).

They'll have to nick of with the super sopper thing from Trent Bridge. The good thing is though they've still forcast rain all day, it should ease off in the afternoon

Exactly!

You don't need Mansfield as a reminder that you are shite.

I wouldn't say so, I'm 10 minutes from the ground and it's miserable but not monsoon weather, good chance the rain ceases by late afternoon too - just think it'll be a bit wet and gloomy.
