Assuming Notts went for it and got caught on the counter?

No, it wasn’t a breakaway goal or anything. Throw-in down the line, their lad beat our defender, got into the box and looped a cross over for Law (who was excellent by the way, why on earth did Bradford release him?) to nod in at the back stick. To be honest I thought the ref was gonna blow up when the throw in was taken, we’d played the three added minutes, and I had resigned myself to a disappointing point! :bl:

Still speechless. It wasn’t a “how did we lose that” sort of game, because I don’t think we’d have scored if we were still playing now.

I was surprised at how much Exeter sat back in the second half, cos they had looked far more likely to score than we did. But great following and great noise.

Hard to see that we’re anything other than well done . We might do better away though because we are worse than wank when the onus is on us.

I actually despise this team and everyone involved with the club. Cannot wait for this wretched season to be over. A once proud club on life support due to an egotistical chairman who has lost £9million sent his business bankrupt and got his cock out and incredibly managed to be worst than a penniless set of supporters.

By the way Exeter fans you have one hell of a player in Brown absolute collosus at the back yesterday.

That was his first start since knee surgery in September, so was amazed he lasted the full 90 mins. He’s great though, as you say he wins everything in the air and will be crucial to us in the run in.

I don’t think you can accuse them of a lack of effort yesterday, Exeter sat deep and defended very well and we just weren’t good enough to break them down.

At the end of the day if you can't score and can't keep a clean sheet you deserve to lose. Exeter stuck to the plan and played with energy and chased the ball down right to the end when they could have just played out for the draw.
Fair play to them.

We could do with every game being away, I don’t think the players can handle the pressure at home now.

I still can’t quite believe that 10-man Exeter scored with the last kick in their sole 2nd half attack after we spent pretty much the entire 45 camped in their half (albeit creating little). Just when you think things can’t get any worse. What a season - it’s never ending! :surr:

Looking back, the red card was probably the worst thing that could’ve happened to us. We’ve struggled against teams who sit deep against us all season and it encouraged them to do just that. Losing it at the end rather than taking a disappointing but kind of useful point was inexcusable, though.

The only remaining crumb of comfort is that most of our remaining fixtures are against teams with nothing to play for, so perhaps with the freedom to leave more space for us.

Yes, I have persuaded myself since Saturday that a point actually wouldn’t have been that bad a result - I’d have taken it before ko and with 10 men Exeter were clearly still a good side with some impressive players for this level. We were 7 points off Yeovil with a GD deficit of 22 after losing to Cheltenham a couple of weeks back. A draw on Saturday and despite being pretty underwhelming recently we’ve clawed it back to 2 points and -13 GD. Then you’re one win away and anything can happen.

Instead we contrive to lose it with the last kick and we’re back to at least 2 games from getting out of it. As you say - unforgivable!

IMO Law’s goal was up there with the great hammer blows I’ve seen watching notts, the ones that leave you pretty much speechless - up there with Dijkstra’s OG at Derby in 94, Havant and Waterlooville’s last minute winner in the cup at ML, and Gillingham’s late equaliser that relegated us 3 or 4 years back. Sickener!

That’s because the education system let you down.

If we carry on this little chat are you going to throw your toys out the pram again, get upset and then disappear for a bit? :gmc:

86% because the second half of your post was very disjointed and didn’t really make sense. I believe you were bringing politics into the thread?

Tbh that’s incredibly impressive if true, to do so well financially when you often fail to get a handle on the English language. You must work wonders with your hands or have been very well advised.

So retired at 52, so what year did you start watching football at Field Mill regularly?

I was merely comparing you to boris who strikes me as a quirky if slightly odd character and gtfc fish to a very bullish dennis skinner ,oh and every single word i typed is 100% true if i am trying to impress someone its certainly not on here and i first started watching mansfield town in 1967 ,missing very few games for many years so its been a bloody long time

I’ve been a labour voter to date, so not really Boris Johnson more Ken Clarke on that side of the house

1967 to 2014?15? Ouch!

That explains a lot

Interesting that you think of me as Dennis Skinner as I imagine Magpie to look like Principal Skinner.

You’ve not seen the Simpsons? It’s only been on television for 30 odd years :ohm:
I don’t think I know or met anybody who hasn’t seen The Simpsons. That changes everything

Seymour’s a good looking fellow, could of been a lot lot worse lol

Funny how our little chats almost exclusively seem to happen on Notts match threads before you disappear or say something really silly

Someone who has never seen a second of The Simpsons is calling me odd!!! :fl:

But you are right there is no adult humour in that show, it’s just a cartoon after all a bit like scooby doo :ohy:

It’s done well for a kids cartoon mind, 30+ years on the box and I believe still going

He does indeed, but if you’ve ever seen the show you know I easily could select two far worse / laughable Simpsons characters

But this is a football forum, it’s a thread about a match between Notts vs Exeter so no real need to match Simpson characters to a Grimsby fan who proposed in a supermarket carpark and a Mansfield fan with two Benidorm caravans who loves a beer and a random rant out of the blue

Save that for the next Notts matchthread ?
