Despite our automatic chances disappearing last weekend, this game should still see a decent gate, helped by the good weather forecast and 4,500 from Luton, as we jockey it out for as high a finish as possible. A point would see us end up no lower than 5th (unless Cov or Lincoln run up an absolute cricket score), and ensure a home leg in the Play-Offs second. Wouldn't be surprised if we rest a few ahead of next weekend.

Think we’ll win 2-1. Just had memories of the last time we played Luton at home on the final day. I’m sure they’ll enjoy me reminding them!

A 2-1 win will raise all our hopes before getting turned over on TV yet again!

Thanks for that!:sna: Still have nightmares about that day. Probably rates as the second worst game I have attended on the "gutted" stakes beaten only by an FA cup semi v Everton in the mid 80s a match we should have won. More than I can say about the County game. We were dreadful! About the same size away following this time as well but the result is immaterial. It will be just one big party. Hoping for an entertaining game and a good natured pitch invasion at the end. Good luck in the play offs! I'm sure most Luton fans wouldn't mind having the same fixture next season.

Looking forward to the battle to keep Luton fans off the pitch.

Ordinarily I’d be cheering them on but unlike with Pompey last year when we didn’t really give a shit and let them have their party, it’s a bit different when we’ve still got the play-offs to come, so hopefully Luton will be respectful of that.

Would be sad if we didnt respect Notts as you do need the pitch in shape for the playoffs. Wish you luck considering you were the pacesetters all season. Not sure what to expect from us. Hope it's pressure free, flowing, attack minded go get em. Can't see a draw. Gonna get beat or I have a sneaky feeling win well.

Ha, I can see a draw. It’s all we need really to make sure of a home second leg in the play-offs and for you lot it’s more about the party than the result. Play out a 1-1 and we’ll see you in the pub after.

No chance! Some supporters no matter how many times they were told refuse to listen.

What is the big deal with running on the pitch anyway?

Ageee absolutely no chance the pitch won’t get swamped. We would do the same if we were in their beautiful boat celebrating last game of season and promotion.

Doesn’t bother me, although if we get Lincoln in play offs it will suit their long ball style for sure. On the other hand If we get the Sky Blues, it may favour in Notts’ direct style.

If we get Stags it doesn’t matter :ffs::lol:

Because we’ve got our most important game of the season a few days later and a few thousand people running on the pitch isn’t exactly great for it? It’s a respect thing as well tomorrow, our season isn’t over.

We played at your place for our final away game last season when you still had the play-offs to come, I don’t think it would have gone down well if we piled onto the pitch to celebrate staying up (hypothetically obvs, think we had a few weeks before that).

We’re generally pretty gracious hosts, but it’ll kick off if you end up on the pitch tomorrow IMO.

No, I was talking about in general.
I've never seen the logic or desire to run on the pitch after a game.

We have already had our "on the pitch" moment this season last week so I dont think there will be many people going on, one or two over enthusiastic ones perhaps. People didnt even go on the pitch after we actually got confirmed as promoted at Carlisle! Be different if there was something being decided tomorrow, either the title or just straight forward promotion.

Dont think people going on impacts it too any great extent though, unless they start ripping it up, Ive actually seen ours this week and looks the same to be honest.

After the Notts chairman almost encouraging Portsmouth to have a party on our pitch last season it's going to be hard to watch the same happen again especially as our season has gone tits up leaving us in the play offs.

I wouldn’t say the season has gone tits up at all, we were punching above our weight in 2017, and coming down on the right side of close games time and time again.

Before a ball was kicked, play offs was what I was hoping for/wanting.

Agreed, all I can say is if it has gone tits up then there's a hell of a lot of other clubs (ourselves included) who wish it could go tits up like that. I have to admit I actually thought Notts wouldn't sustain their start and end up around 10th so think they've done very well whatever happens.

That’s just four words put together that means nothing. Try again.
How can you say that getting into the top 3 is "punching above your weight". Notts County have spent 67 seasons in the top 2 divisions, in a huge stadium with a decent fanbase and were in League One as recently as 3 seasons ago.

Kenneth I’ll help you out a little. Which division have been operated the most in , in the last decade? What’s been average league position at the end of the season in L2?
Bar the incredible Munto season where we smashed basically many teams for fun, and only lost once in something like last 14 we’ve struggled.

Your own beloved hatters were in the 5th tier for how many seasons? Surely with your huge fansbase by non league football standards if shouldn’t of taken that long?

No need to go back to the glory days of 70/80/90s let’s look at last 10 years , they carry more weight.

If only size of stadium = success, we’d be verging on the championship.

The table doesn’t lie you finish where you deserve to.

Luton 2nd best team in the division, just enjoy the celebrations today on this glorious day

So by this logic, Luton are punching above their weight having spent the last 10 seasons in League Two and the Conference?

No clearly but your logic was we have a big stadium and if you go back over 25 years and look into the history books we are a top two league club?! How’s that work fella?

Times have changed , and the last few seasons are more comparable to say the years we enjoyed under Warnock or the Legendary Sirrel.

I didn’t expect top 3 not with our summer additions, only unexpected success of our two red dog loans put us in that elevated position.

Great atmosphere. Controlling possession but lack a killer ball in the last third so far. Entertaining game tho.

Happy with that. Wanted a point pre game, can see why Luton are promoted. Lots of possession but mainly created shots from distance and put together two or three lovely moves. They certainly weren’t on the beach today so competitive game

Danny Hylton clearly is talented but ain’t the brightest lad, with the fashion he got himself sent off.

Great atmosphere, good crowd , average game and no pitch invasion.

Enjoyed that very much, pretty decent game I thought and we played well, had some decent opportunities but just lacking that edge we have had all season, epitomised by Collins clean through somehow not even getting a shot away!

Not even sure what Hylton was doing to be honest, the first one I think the ref has just made a total mess of the situation, was totally confused as to what he had given but why Hylton needs to insert himself in the situation I’ve no idea. You could see the red coming as 10 seconds before he got hacked down and was out for retribution.

Yeah strange, not sure why a drop ball was given in the first place. It was a foul to someone, but the ref clearly instructed a Luton player to give the ball back to the oppositions keeper. McCormack wanted to do it, Hylton clearly didn’t agree, gets booked and Sheehan then does the honours.
In Second half he then gets levelled by O’Connor ,don’t think it was a foul , those two then Appear to laugh and joke about it, no malice. Minute later, he’s still smarting from being dumped on his ass and goes in late with elbow/arm/hand something on an aerial challenge. Obvious and easy sending booking. Both needless

Fun game for a 0-0, fizzled out a bit after the red card with Notts happy with a point and understandably not really bothering to go for it.

Our Frontline needs some off-season work. All three have done well but here's no teamwork between them and each just looks to score themselves lately. Result is we end up spurning a lot of better options as the striker in possession just looks to shoot rather than the correct option. Thought Rea was class at the back as was McCormack again

Agree about the strikers, didn’t work today. Lee in particular is too selfish at times and holds the ball far too long. Guess they all wanted to get goals today, can’t blame them for that I guess given what they have done this season for us.

Pelly was absolutely class today i thought. Best player out there by some distance IMO

Entertaining 0-0, thought Luton were good, better when down to 10 bizarrely, can see why they are going up, McCormack was class. Nice touch from the Notts fans to applaud the Luton players after the final whistle, it seems our fans and Sheehan have finally buried the hatchet as he got a good reception at the end.

We'll need to be a bit sharper in the play offs but understandable on a hot afternoon with not that much at stake for us. Next Saturday night should be a bit more intense. Looking forward to it!

Biggest plus for me today was O’Connor and Toots starting, thought the later was Notts best player inc a great goal bound block
