Our Frontline needs some off-season work.
Yeah ~110 goals are overrated anyway.

And all the moaning about us getting promoted in spite of our defence... well guess who ended up the best defence in the division too!

Haha. Yeah I know what you mean Kenny. However the frontline teamwork was totally missing today. Needs to be drilled in it's a team game not about getting top scorer or hitting 20 or getting most goals per minute. Good problem to have I guess bit at the next level up we won't get half of that with this mentaloty

If we actually see Lee playing as a number 10 long term he does need to learn when to release the ball, he butchered a couple of attacks today just by taking too long or trying to do to much with the ball himself, so I get where you are coming from BH.

He has great ability, but sometimes trying to beat the man in front of you is not always the best option, especially when youre playing as a 10 and not a striker as he is used too.

Well I woke up this morning feeling fine.

We were all dreaming of promotion and had it on our minds from day 1. Looks like the board were onto something good to install the relatively unknown Nathan Jones. He took us up, like he said he would.

Anyone else despair over the 44th minute drinks break by the referee. I mean, seriously?

Over the drop ball incident he made a total mess of the restart. I'm no expert of the laws, but surely the team that receives an uncontested drop ball isn't obliged to pass the ball back to the opposition keeper? The referee then changed his mind to a contested drop ball. Surely its just a foul one way or another?

I was just confused about that whole bit of play. Why have a drinks break 1 minute before half time? Why did we need a drop ball in any case? It was a clear foul prior to him blowing play dead.

Then why was the drop ball, if we needed one, not a contested one? Why didn’t McCormack not just thump it up field if that’s what the ref wanted us to do - if he haven’t knocked it out to Stacey then I doubt Hylton gets booked for passing it back to him in the first place.

The ref clearly didn’t have a clue why he had stopped the game and indeed how he wanted to start it again!

Great performance in the circumstances, with nothing to play for really. That said we had 4,5k there who the team didnt want to disappoint. No criticism from me about not scoring. It was just one of those days. The whole day was about celebrating a wonderful season which I thought our fans did in style. Colourful, loud and proud. As has ben mentioned before credit to Notts County, the club for the respect they showed and their fans who stayed behind to applaud our players. Thats what football is all about. Notts County could soon have their own celebrations and join us in league one.
Goodbye league 2!

Absolutely did not wake up this morning feeling fine. Far too old for all day sessions like that but what a day, right up there with my favourite ever away days I think. Felt like we never stopped singing in the ground and then even in the pub after and the entire train home that fcuking song just kept going. One of the more entertaining 0-0s I can recall but the football was irrelevant really, days like that are what you live for as a lower league football fan. Beautiful.

Firstly, it wasn't the ref who decided on a drinks break, it was the players of both sides, who then ignored the ref when he realised what they were doing and tried to get them back.
With the drop ball, watching on it seemed to me that everyone had agreed that the ball was to be played to the County keeper (despite there being a clear push on a Luton player), but Hylton, being Hylton, decided to piss about again. He then decided to give the ref a mouthful of dissent and just wouldn't shut up. As if the ref was ever going to change his mind!! If only Hylton had a brain... I wonder what he was feeling sat in the changing rooms while all the celebrations were going on after the game. Mind you, every other team in the league would have him like a shot.

Anyway, fantastic day, brilliant atmosphere, even a decent game. That'll live long in the memory, and I can't get that song out of my head.

He was obviously good but seemed to be in a right mood all afternoon, which was a bit weird for a game that didn’t really mean anything to do either team and was meant to be a celebration for you guys. He was going mental at any teammate who didn’t pass him the ball, got himself booked for dissent and then sent off for a completely needless premeditated elbow. Just looked weird, the kind of thing you’d expect a player to do in a really big game when they’d lost their head, not an end of season kickabout.
