Surprise bonus Sunday football!

We're still unbeaten at home under Nolan and have been pretty ruthless at taking points from the games that look winnable, so hopefully that continues here.

A draw looks pretty tempting to me as we've been better away from home than at THL this season.
God knows what line-up we're going to put out though.

As much as the way Notts have been playing recently and especially at home this is a game theoretically we should win.

However it would be Notts style to draw or lose this and then win next week, you know to keep the season exciting and all!

I have gone for a win in the Oaky predictor but I am feeling a point now.

What will make this interesting is that presumably we could only be 5 points above the relegation zone come Sunday. Would certainly wake up the players a bit.

Haven't seen us play well at home this year so hoping Notts will turn up

You know when you see a teamsheet, think 'WTF how does this work?', try in vain for 10 minutes to work it out, then give up and resign yourself to the loss again?

Yeah.

Yeah.

We have removed a player for you, should be a little easier for you lot now

Ref's lost his mind. Fairly harsh red, somehow didn't give us a pen for Stead being kicked in the head and has just booked Akinde for being taken out by our 'keeper. Chaos.

A normal day's work for a League 2 ref!

Sadly we are looking poor again, even against 10 men. Nice touch by Nelson to tell the Ref he's having a shit game.

Nugent has got to go. This team is a shambles and its unforgivable how they've turned from playoff candidates to relegation outsiders. If Newport weren't hopeless and Orient weren't being shafted, we would be right in the mix by the end of March.

Got 5/1 on the Notts County win just before HT.

Nice £50 boost, cheers Notts!

I'll take that, 85+ minutes with 10 men and grind out a win.
Barnet had more possession and shots which you would expect with the extra man.

Nugent out. This is all down to him. I don't care about inexperience, or not his players, or settling in time. There is a limit and he's reached it.

He's very lucky that we were decent before his shitshow of an association with us - otherwise we'd be dead certs to go down.

He has just got to go - never before has a team got so much worse with a change of manager.

"Looking forward" to Nugent's post-match interview...

Nah he won't come back I don't think. Fans don't want him and from what I hear, he had a huge falling out with the chairman (all other times he's left had been fairly amicable/agreed prior to him joining/repairable).

Anyone but him or Nugent running this club. Jesus Christ this is awful. (Obviously it could be worse of course)

Got to be honest, there were times I'd forgotten Notts had a man sent off, Barnet were shocking bearing in mind they had an extra man (could argue two including the ref!).

Also, how small is Barnet's goalkeeper? That can't be helpful?

Pretty much the perfect ten men performance from us. Kept our shape, didn't worry about possession and were a threat on the break. We're on to something good with Nolan.

Barnet passed it and passed it but never really looked like they were going to score.

Not our usual keeper, he was signed on an emergency loan.

I don't think Barnet were ever worthy of a playoff spot but the only way that was ever going to happen was with Martin Allen.

Disagree on both counts - without watching Allen's football often you don't realise quite how limiting it is. It was an ugly spectacle, always has been.

Oh I don't know, just after Christmas when they splashed the cash they were on a good run and looked a challenger for a play-off. I hope they have not gone into hock to buy the players that ultimately have not made the difference this year.

Why was this a Sunday kickoff? Was it televised?

Not having Sky or BT Sports, I tried to find a stream as I thought if nothing else it would be an intriguing example of your average League 2 tussle (and Barnet are my nearest league team after Arsenal), but in vain.

Notts and Forest aren't allowed to play at home on the same day. Forest were scheduled to play Derby at home yesterday so we had to shift as is always the case

To a man Notts were brilliant. The sending off was harsh imo, not sure it was a red but looked like a yellow.

For me Akinde dived when he could have easily jumped over Collin. Ref got that decision right in what was really a horror show for both sides. So classic being Notts putting the ball out but being awarded a throw.

Milsom, O'Connor, Hollis, Duffy, Grant were all great. It's amazing that all Nolan has really done is work on shape and made us play more direct but we look so much better. Tootles finish was brilliant for a right back. Well worked goal too.

Some vindication for big Keith Stroud - reckon he got both the red and the Akinde dive spot on looking at them again.

Fan sentiment against Nugnet has (quite rightly) reached a critical mass on our message board.
