Very frustrating night. Although 80% of the game has been played in their half we didn’t really do enough in terms of getting attempts on target.

The exact kind of away performance I couldn't imagine us putting in a few weeks ago. We came and didn't let Vale play their game and won with a screamer.

Can't remember either keeper making a save until Howards right at the end.

Truly dreadful against as poor a Scunthorpe side as I can remember. They literally sat in their own half the whole game but we didn't have the nouse or movement to get anything out of it. Really disappointing and we are nowhere near good enough to be near the top of the table.

We have probably been robbed a fair equaliser but ultimately we’ve had 95% of the game and like Morecambe failed to make it count.

I’ll say the same as I said in the Morecambe game, you are fully deserved for your win! You executed your game plan perfectly. Like I said to Tranmere fans on Saturday, possession means fuck all when you do nothing with it and that’s exactly what we did tonight. Great finish from your lad and a mixture of good organisation and a lack of creativity from us.

Aye I think the stats at about 80 minutes showed both teams had one on target each albeit we had more attempts overall.

Cullen should have done much better when he had a chance from 6 yards out. We do a lot of things nicely and tidily but just are not ruthless enough as a team and I think at this point of the season you pretty much know what sort of team you have.
