By the time FGR come to town we will give them their obligatory nil point from North Wales. A draw at worst.

Remember this?

That was 4 years and 8 games ago Chris...

If you want to start posting up historic results I'm happy to do that.

God you really are just a non league club now, can't believe you lot have been down here for so long! ! Obviously the history that the ex league clubs always talk about doesn't actually help, who knew! !

We are a non league side. We've been down here for 8 years. What's your point?

You are also a non league side.

The historic results I was talking about wasn't from our 87 years of league football, the times we beat top European teams or our numerous giant killing cup wins. Just all the times we've beaten FGR over the last few years.

That's fantastic good for you. If things pan out you'll be a League 2 side. Glamour ties versus Morecambe and Accrington. Bet you can't wait.

To be honest anywhere is better than Halifax and Barrow, even Mosul is looking more appealing. . .

You're not wrong there. League 2 is full of stupid little clubs, not much different to this league so the sooner you fly through and up again the better. League 1 is much better, some proper clubs in that league. Not Fleetwood obviously.

Maybe I'm missing something, but as a supporter I can't really see what there is to celebrate about having an owner willing to massively indebt your club in order to try and gain promotion to league 2. It ultimately means nothing, and winning promotion based simply on being able to outspend everyone else is ultimately pretty hollow and certainly nothing to boast about.

Clubs like FGR are anti-football. They distort the league and devalue the entire competition. The sooner they are gone the better.

I'm still in disbelief that we dropped through League 2. It was truly awful. We barely had time to yell "We're bigger than youuuuuuuuuuuuu..." as we plummeted past in a shower of excrement.

Sun 6th: Taunton T (A) - win
Sat 12th: Sutton United (A) - win
Sat 19th: Solihull Moors (H) - win
Tues 22nd: Guiseley (H) - win
Sat 26th: Dagenham & Redbridge (A) - draw - but only because fans on their forum are so defeatist at times
Tues 29th: Macclesfield Town (A) - win like last season.

13/15 - any more than that and we'll end up winning the league....

after the Eastleigh game someones gonna get a right stuffing this month - I'm guessing Solihull or Guiseley
Remember our last trip to Holker Street? :bdick:

Tues 1st - Spalding United (A) - League - Lose
Sat 5th - Stocksbirdge Park Steels (A) - League - Draw
Tues 8th - Rugby Town (A) - League - Win
Sat 12th - Lincoln United (H) - FA Trophy - Win
Tues 15th - Corby Town (H) - League Cup - Lose
Sat 19th - Lougborough Dynamo (A) - League - Win
Sat 26th - Market Drayton (H) - League - Win [or FAT 3Q Round]

A tough month for us. Two very tough league games to start the month, followed by a potentially tricky tie away to Rugby who have pretty much changed their entire squad from the start of the season as best as I can tell! I think we'll win that one though as they still only have 5 pts. The FA Trophy game I really should be predicting us to lose given Lincoln United's cup exploits so far this season, but I just think we'll sneak it for no good reason whatsoever. The last couple of league games should be relatively easy, Loughborough have a staggering -20 GD already, while we are currently level on points with Market Drayton having played 4 games less. If we do play in the FAT 3Q round, then I expect us to bow out at that stage.

To be fair there are 2 big differences in their thinking to yours here.

1. They think the owner is putting money in out of pure generosity and is not generating debt to the club. The truth is sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't. For instance Griggs didn't generate any debt for R&DFC.

2. They aren't thinking about after the money is gone. Why would they? They are enjoying life and believing it will go on forever like this. If your present and near future is looking good, why worry about some unknown distance in to the future?

Exactly. Seems a few of our fans think we might actually win this league! There is no chance we will go the month unbeaten.
Have you not heard it's FGR's trophy already!
Still will be a momentous task for a club like ours to hold onto a top five position, no doubts about that! But saying that I still think we can remain unbeaten in November, and as long as we can keep a tight hold of the shirt tails of those around us in the league, why not dream the impossible dream a little longer. :woo:

Hopefully Bignot will get the Grimsby job before we play them which could help us out - but we are a better team now than we were then

Mate, you support Barrow - always be prepared to be let down.
There's no doubt we're in the best position we've ever been in since Barrow have been non-league, and we're a match for anyone in the division on our day. Personally, I think we'll just fall short of play-offs, with Eastleigh, Lincoln, Tranmere and Dagenham the most likely to pip us.

So we actually started the month tonight, losing an epic 7 goal thriller away at Jimmy Bullard's Leatherhead. Nice to see us rattling in another 3 goals, with or without Miller we're prolific.

I heard a rumour we're after Miller in Jan. Just saying.

Ooh, even as one of the youngies that didn't have to see it happen, that strikes too close to the bone
