Hurst has said we have COVID cases in some first team players, not said who or how many but the game will be on.

The players that have it can't be that important then.

Just supporting a Brotherhood team in the National League is cool these days - someone said to me the other day - "I think that's really great that you stick by home town team down there...Premier League ruined by money...foreign owners...blah blah blah...etc etc". Counter (mass) culture is cool, but of course, it has to have some kind of following, so, sorry, supporting the tinpots is more like just being a bit of a weirdo...

Hard to envisage supporting Scunthorpe being cool, but that's what it might come to next season...
I may be speaking for myself and the fellow tin potters I know, butI think you will find that most of us have proper teams we follow and our tinpot team is our local team who we van easily support to watch live football

What the fuck is an expected point?

Presumably linked to the XG stat, with points for each game so far allocated based on the XG figures for that match I would guess. It's the table that had us in the bottom two or three last December when we were still in the play-offs.

I’m not entirely sure tbh. Guessing it’s to do with the old expected goals and how many points you’d have if every game went exactly to that. Suggests you and Boreham Wood are getting a lot more points than your performances necessarily warrant.

We respect the data here at Meadow Lane, hence why we’re running to within 0.1 expected points of schedule.

Oh, Roberts is fit. Entire fit squad to choose from apart from the ‘keeper, so not a clue what formation we’ll play let alone which players.

Can't speak for Boreham Wood but for us that just goes to show that all this xG stuff is nonsense for me. Not saying anything about the future, but there's no way any other team has been better than us over the course of the season so far. So many factors that all this bollocks ignores.

Yours sincerely,
Yer da

That XG simply tells me we’re clinical and rarely get out of second gear

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Like to think we could scrape maybe a point tomorrow, having made a totally unexpected number of signings. Some of them actually look the business. May take a few games to integrate, so it’s up to MM to motivate our perpetual underperformers.
Home again on Tuesday, so vital we get at least a few points from these games , but not optimistic. 1-1 fingers crossed.

Just a little Brotherhood jest - but surely the local team is a proper team?

Of course Southend had to be rejuvenated before their trip down the estuary, before that it was a very expected home win so who knows now. We have to win this to keep pace with the play off hunt as Halifax and Chesterfield in our next two are very tough. Was hoping for some protests and a pitch invasion for some lolz.

As we have a couple of first teamers out tomorrow due to Covid then should we lose then this is definitely the reason, however, should we win then it just shows to show how good our full squad is, strength in depth etc, etc……
If it’s a draw then fuck knows, I’ll have to think of some other shite to say for a draw.

Yes, of course, but I was referring to Prem. teams or that sort of level.

Most Maidenhead fans would be first and foremost fans of Reading, QPR, Brentford, Chelsea and dare I say it Wanky Wanderers.

I myself am a Liverpool fan because I was born and raised there, but have lived in Maidenhead for about 10 years. No chance of getting tickets for the Reds, but am happy to watch them on telly, and get behind my local team.

Its good to have 2 teams!!

Not cool that though 2 teams same sport...my other team is Leicester Tigers...have a look at the rugby premiership table, the National League table and the League 2 table. Tigers top, Grimsby top, Scunthorpe bottom, now that's cool...

xG is a load of old shite. I can't believe it is regarded as an actual stat by the likes of Sky Sports.

We've only had some new coaching staff in, we'll be rejuvenated until you make it 1-0, then it'll be business as usual.

I never knew supporting 2 teams was a thing until I moved to Lincoln. Literally blokes with a Man U tattoo on one arm and an Imps one on the other.

Wankers the lot of em.

Unlikely for us to go 1-0 up, we’ve been 1-0 down in 9 out of our 11 league games.
