Despite there being 30 points still to play for (which would see us finish on 93 points and surely enough for 2nd), most Dons fans concede that automatic promotion is gone and the season now will hinge on the dreaded play-offs (provided we do not bottle it completely and finish 7th).
As for Oldham Athletic, WABLOitis has struck again and they look set to finish as a mid-table League One side for the 1,276th time.
I reckon we will get something from the game as "we haven't turned in to a bad side overnight" (Grigg 2015). Having said that, we look a shadow of the side that smashed Oldham and many other teams earlier in the season and so I feel a similar result to the Walsall game is on the cards and a draw.
With the form we are in, this being our 9th trip to Boundary Park in 11 years and our away support being poor at the best of times, I would not be surprised to see us dip below 100 fans for this trip. Last time we had to go to Oldham on a Tuesday night we took 54 and despite our average away support being up this season by over 100, this will surely be our lowest turnout of the season.
Prediction:
Oldham Athletic 1-1 Milton Keynes Dons
- Carl Baker with our goal
- 101 MK Dons fans
