Everyone knows boundary park is coldest place on earth, but the biggest question today is should I take a coat.

I'm gunna drive up today and yes I'll be placing a light jacket in the boot.

Anyway - every game feels must win now, it's going to be a lot more tougher today than against Morecambe. I would personally keep the same team except for Grant, who despite playing well I think it would be more suited to play Tomlinson or Macca (perferably Tomlinson)

It's either Mellis or Grant and you can't really drop Mellis after the Morecambe performance.

Flitcroft would sit back on a 1-0 lead with 11 strikers on the pitch.

Two teams in a bit of form, business end of the season, should be a good game!

Even Oldham should be warmish today!

We’ve just got to turn up, we can’t afford another Northampton performance from either the players or the manager.

No team talk needed for the rest of the season, win games and we’re up - if only it were so simple

We could win today and be no further from 4th or draw and be a point further away!

Just play our game.

Had thought of going to this and cheering on the home team, had Rovers still had a realistic chance of the automatics. With Forest Green putting a stop to that, will save my pennies, but expect the spoils to be shared between two sides in decent form.

Oldham deserve to lead 1-0 at half time, great pass and finish to be fair.

Mansfield started to play a bit after we went 1 down, because uno it’s difficult to start the game quick with three games to go and automatic promotion on the line :bang:

Once we went 2-0 down our formation pretty much turned to 4-2-4 and Oldham took advantage of that really well to be fair and the third Oldham goal despite landing luckily he finished it so well!

Crazy second half with plenty of chances but the last kick of the game Rose put it in the net, and the linesmen called it offside - if that’s the incorrect decision it will be a bitter pill to swallow.

Anybody who watched it on TV see it?

Don’t expect any favours from us. Think we’ll have our reserves out against Bury in preparation for the play offs..

Deserved to lose.

Oldham much better side, can’t argue.

Beaten down the wings, beaten for effort and beaten to most challenges.

Surprised there are mansfield fans who think we deserved a draw - it would have been a fraud.

Rubbish defensively today. Jones terrible, White injury has done us there. No point Grant playing away from home didn't deserve anything but gutting to see Stevie Wonder with his flag up with the last fucking kick.

Relying on Tranmere/Colchester to do us a fav next week now

Our curse at Oldham continues again.

Please don’t make us have to go there again soon.

Still an outside chance of an automatic place, so would be expecting the reserves to be held back for Crawley. If we’ve got any left after today’s injuries.

After Bury winning promotion in Birkenhead after we’d dropped out of the FL, the club should do anything to stop a repetition. Had enough of gloating Bury fans to last a lifetime.

I like it Boz. Do that

Surely you'd want to finish 4th/5th anyway to get the 2nd leg at home?

So much space out there for Oldham today. For away games the midfield three should be Bishop, Tomlinson and MacDonald in my opinion. Harsh on Mellis mind. Disappointing again though.

We would be in the playoffs easy if we had gave the job to wild instead of giving it to scholes but the fact is if we win our three remaining games we are in the playoffs. Can’t see it myself but thanks pete wild for keeping the season going

Pete Wild has said on Radio Manchester we played Maouche high up the pitch because we knew there would be space for him because your back 3 rigidly stay back.

18:32 here.

In the ground and from behind the goal I couldn't really tell, but I've just been watching the highlights back and some of our defending looks horrific.

For the first goal, Sweeney loses a header, so Preston moves across and out of position, then it's fired straight through Conrad. Granted, it's a great ball but there's three half errors in there. On the second, Mal loses a battle for strength and then Jones under no pressure heads it straight back to your player who's in acres of space. For the third, Jones gets drawn across again and the ball goes to your guy again who's in acres.

There's also a clip where Benning runs miles out of position trying to play the offside trap which is just bizarre. I don't think I have seen defending like that from us all season.

To be fair we did expose ourself due to attacking intent on the second half, like I said we pretty much went 4-2-4.

Flitcroft starting Grant really was criminal, he’s never going to win a 50/50 and we need people who are willing to battle at this stage.

I doubt we will see him on the pitch again, Mellis is our best shot at creativity. Bishop, Tomlinson, Mellis in midfield for me.

Not sure if you were the same but some said we expected him to start against Morecambe but not against Oldham - we were all surprised he started - as you mentioned - it should have been Tomlinson or macca really.

Could easily have been sent off for that challenge too. It’s all quite disappointing

Seems as if whenever we take numbers anywhere - Lincoln, Notts county, port vale, Northampton Oldham we don’t turn up, we were lucky at Lincoln and competely crap at the rest - not what you’d be wanting to serve up infront of fans who’ve paid hard earned money and spent all that time going to watch poor showings.

Large followings obviously don’t entitle fans to wins and good performances but you’d have thought they’d be a few in there....
