This afternoon and both of his assistants. No surprise really. Huge budget, massively underachived, struggled to speak English. Been one big long joke for the Orient fans over the last 18 months or so. What happens now? Are the owners staying or going? Will there be a huge budget again next season? Who do Orient fans want in?

It's honestly really sad to see what's happened to Orient.

I really like Orient as a club and their fans. They could get away with supporting Arsenal or Chelsea or whatever London team they wanted but they support Orient which is class. One of my favourite away days too.

I really hope they appoint an English manager who knows L2 and they bounce back straight away.

Indeed. Was this Liverani or Becchetti's ideas? Is Becchetti staying or going... So many questions.

I am wondering the training is for a new manager to decide who he wants to keep? Presuming Nugent will be back in temporary charge as Liverani, Donatelli and Cantarelli have all gone. No news on Gagliardi though. Fun times

What an absolute mess, was a bizarre appointment in the first place. Under this regime I can't see Orient coming back up any time soon,.

To pay up Liverani, Donatelli and Cantarelli will probably have cost the best part of a million... Don't know if that says anything about Becchetti's commitment or not...

Yep, a fascist sympathiser is what Orient need to make me dislike them even more.

Probably had to go didn't they, be interesting to see how it affects the budget

Wonder who they'll appoint, any early front runners?

If Becchetti is still funding, I doubt there will be any impact whatsoever...

Your guess is as good as any, could quite literally be anyone.

I have some sympathy for him, he came into a club that was (and still is) going through a huge transitional period. He inherited an injury ravaged squad with lots of injuries.

He clearly gave it his all and made a huge effort to learn English quickly and try and learn about the English lower leagues.

But, he was always the wrong appointment at the wrong time and by the end of the season that was proved correct. He only named the same team twice in 28 games and in the end, blamed everyone but himself. He also inherited one of the bigger squads in the division with one of the bigger budgets and better players, yet we still went down. Partly IMO because of the language barrier, but mainly due to him being tactically inept.

I get the impression from a few of the players that he was decent enough coach, but as a manager which involves movitvating a team and tactically preparing a team, he was nowhere near good enough.

Who knows though, we may have a transfer embargo on us which isn't going to be lifted any time soon and Fabio probably thought it was best to walk away. Judging by a few players reactions on twitter, they found out the same way we did......

Becchetti is still the bigger problem IMO.

I would take Ferguson, Holloway or Danny Wilson. But we all know it will be another unknown Italian who has retired from Serie A.

Start googling those names.......

Apparently the accounts have been filed...

Lomas and then Holloway. Creative bunch these punters, aren't they?
I'd have Lomas over Holloway if I was an Orient supporter. Holloway is unstable and a fucking idiot. He's the last thing Orient need right now.

They both failed badly, but Holloway failed from a decent position whilst Lomas was never going to work due to the fan reaction.
Don't think either would be a good appointment, but Holloway is one of the worst managers we've probably ever had when you consider the level of support he enjoyed from the board and supporters.

I am still staggered to see they have a player on something like £20k a week, I don't think our entire 1st team would have been on that last season in a week, I would imagine quite a few others would be in the same boat.

Orient have to be very careful with how they manage things, financial trouble is never far away when you've big outgoings and you can't shift those who are the higher earners, and the conference are notorious for how they treat clubs in financial strife.

The players additional training has now been cancelled...

Players should find out by the weekend whether they are retained or not, presumably Nugent is doing that.

According to people 'in the know' the new manager will be British and should be appointed next week. Paul Ince is a name branded about, Darren Ferguson has become the bookies new favourite. Other random name mentioned is Paul Le Guen.
