Christ. Those three goals were as bad defensively as anything you will ever see. Cannot overstate how poor Notts were and we gift-wrapped them three points.

Then again, we have a 19 year old keeper, a 17 year old right back, a small left back at centre half and a kid left winger at left back. Hardly a surprise we let such bad goals in. Fuck Becchetti.

It's funny how things pan out over a season. Orient were the first team we beat at home this season and played like E10 rifle described us today. Orient lumped it, we coped with it and we looked destined for comfortable mid table , with maybe a sniff of the playoffs.
That turned out to be Sheridans only home win and the high point.
We may be cloggers, but there should , just about, be enough to get us over the line.
It's been a great eight days for us, we've done what's needed when we needed to do it, just, and it's now in our own hands .

We are bad but Nolan has us trying really hard and we have Shola and that should keep us up. Fucking cracker of a day.

Not sure if it's the fact it's been a cracker of a day or if it was actually that good but I thought the game was as the title states, a real ding dong. What a brilliant game it was.

If you had told me Orient had 5 youth teamers on the squad I wouldn't have believed you. Very little separated the sides IMO. Yates, Ameobi and Bola quality for Notts.

I never thought you could make Stead and Ameobi work as a front two, but crude as it is, it does. Get the ball forward quickly and play from there. Why has it taken so many managers so long to work out what Nolan has in 3 games?
Fantastic atmosphere created by the 705 btw.

What's all this about Plovdiv?

sorry for the usual self hating Notts fans, County had most of the quality where it counts but Orient had a couple of spells where they exerted intense pressure made for a very entertaining game.

I don't know how County won that game, the referee had an absolute shocker - Ameobi literally broke our CB's pelvis, and it wasn't even a free kick.

Plenty of heart, and the much better football, from Orient, but that is a damaging defeat. Conference here we come.

Think it was a really unlucky awkward landing that broke the guy's pelvis, rather than Ameobi.

We won because we created the much better chances despite having less possession and playing less football. I thought it was a fun game to watch, though, and on that evidence both teams could well be okay.

Yeah I'm not sure how you can say the incident was a foul, just looked like they challenged for the ball and Parkes fell badly...

I thought the ref was fine for both teams and Notts deserved the points. Before your second goal, we had 4 pretty clear cut chances we should have buried

Wasn't a bad challenge from Ameobi at all; just an awkward landing symptomatic of our luck. Don't think we'd have conceded the goals we did had we had Parkes at centre half rather than an injured left back.

Not sure what the County fans are on about with the 'deserving' a win thing. I know you hadn't picked up a point on the road since October, but you got played off the park by a bunch of children and spent the entire 90 minutes hacking it forward to two offside lampposts. Good job the fat ref didn't see Ameobi catching the ball for the winner, eh?

Shows you never to trust a fans view eh? Reading an Orient fans view that they played us off the park when I thought you were never really in it and both your goals were like FIFA goals from lucky bounces

So Orient played us off the park but failed to win? I suspect that they'll lose to Cheltenham as well if they can't deal with height and with that, give everyone else a nice bit of breathing space

Played us off the park is... strong. Played the nicer football, sure, and had more possession, but the two goals were the only two times they ever really came close to scoring. We missed a hatful on the break at 2-1 to seal it.

Christ, the defending for Orient's third goal was woeful. Perhaps the ref could've given a peno to Orient, seem them given. Massive win for Notts, takes us ever closer to the 50 point mark. Looked such a different team to the one a month ago.

I could say the same about the first two Notts County goals as well if I wanted to. Both had some elements of luck about them. I actually thought both sides only had one clear chance all the first half.

Massey had two good chances, one which forced a save from Collin when he cut inside in the second half and another one in the first half when he left two Notts players for dead on the halfway line, running the half length of the pitch before shooting and McCallum was unable to poke the rebound home.

Massey was Orients best player by a country mile. I take your point around Steads first. Our first goal is basically league two staple.

Huge hoof from the keeper, hits about 3 players on the way and then it goes in.

The average goal is scored with less than 4 passes or something silly like that. Hence why hoof ball is king at this level.

Orient looked most dangerous when you hoisted the ball into the box, all the pretty stuff basically didn't gain much
